  • Supporting Foodbanks this Christmas | Cooke in the Community As part of our commitment to the communities we call home, we want to support local people in their time of need this Christmas. The Cooke Community Benefit Fund has donated £1,000 to both the Orkney and Shetland Foodbanks. The winter period is when they see their highest demand for services due to energy costs, the colder climate and the cost-of-living crisis. Cooke Scotland also supported the Lairg & District Community Initiatives (LDCI) to purchase 34 Christmas Hampers filled with festive food and goodies for Lairg Food Larder clients, as well as elderly members of the community. • Toy Donation to NHS Shetland Child Health Department | Cooke News We are delighted to have made a donation of toys to the Child Health Department at NHS Shetland to comfort youngsters who are staying in hospital at Christmas and throughout the new year. More than 100 gifts, games, dolls, colouring and reading books and more were donated through our Community Benefit Fund as part of our commitment to the communities we call home. Hospital Children’s Nurse, Jan Howard, said: “The gifts will significantly help children cope with being in the hospital, providing comfort and distraction during what can be painful or stressful procedures. There is also enough to support the children requiring longer term care or waiting in Accident and Emergency. Since we have no budget for toys, we deeply value and appreciate this generous contribution.” Read more: https://bit.ly/4fijIAR

  • Papa Westray School iPad Donation | Cooke in the Community It was a pleasure for us to donate iPads to Papa Westray Community School in #Orkney to ensure pupils will have equal access to new technology. The new devices will allow the children to access a wide range of digital education resources and enhance their learning experiences. Stewart Rendall, Orkney North Isles Area Manager at Cooke Scotland, visited the school to gift the devices. He said: “We understand the importance of connecting young people on the Northern isles with the wider world as well as developing their digital skills with new technology. “As a family company with Atlantic salmon operations off the coast of Westray and Papa Westray, we work hard to generate shared prosperity in the communities where we live and work and our local investment helps keep rural communities viable.” Read more: https://bit.ly/41s88Qa #Cookeinthecommunity
