Looking back on highlights from Connex’s 2024 programme. In April, we tackled one of the sector’s toughest questions at our roundtable: "The Resilient Leader: Why Be a CEO in Housing’s Current Climate?" Chief executives and senior leaders joined us to explore what it really takes to lead through challenges, drive progress, and inspire organisations in an uncertain housing landscape where there is so much scrutiny on us. Key Takeaways: ▪️ Resilience is active, not reactive: Great leaders don’t just withstand challenges—they turn adversity into opportunity to grow and strengthen their organisations. ▪️ Control the controllable: True resilience comes from choosing how you respond, not just reacting to stressors. ▪️ Vision drives momentum: A clear, consistent direction keeps teams focused and aligned when times are tough. ▪️ Strong governance is essential: Collaborative relationships with non-executive directors help steer organisations through change. Thank you to our brilliant panellists: Charmaine Simei CIHCM (Tuntum Housing Association), Sarah Thomas (RHP Group), Mark Perry (VIVID), and our chair Sarah Stevenson (New Street Consulting Group (NSCG)). Your insights and leadership lit the way for a candid, frank and energising conversation for those in the room. At Connex Leadership Networks, we don’t shy away from the hard conversations. We bring housing leaders together to rethink challenges, share strategies, and redefine what resilient leadership looks like. Are you ready to lead with clarity, strength, and impact in 2025? Join us for future sessions that challenge perspectives and drive meaningful progress in housing leadership. #ConnexLeadershipNetworks #HousingLeadership #ResilientLeadership #AuthenticLeadership #LeadershipInHousing #HonestConversations

We’re reflecting on the defining moments of this year’s Connex programme. We opened our 2024 programme of events with a vital conversation: The Chairs’ Challenge: A Transformative Drive or Mere Window Dressing? With the National Housing Federation calling for boards to champion real Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), we asked the hard questions: ● Why have fewer than 70 organisations signed up? ● Are boards embedding authentic EDI practices, or is this box-ticking in disguise? ● Have things really changed much—and what will it take to move the dial? Key Insights That Matter: ● Tokenism won’t cut it. EDI must be embedded into leadership culture, not treated as an add-on. ● Boards need measurable strategies to amplify diverse voices at every level. ● Without bold action, progress will continue to stall. A huge thank you to Jenny Brown, Victor da Cunha, David Hunter MRICS, CIHCM, and chair Karl George for taking part in an honest and thought-provoking session. At Connex Leadership Networks, we don’t just start conversations—we equip leaders to drive real impact and meaningful change. It’s time to stop asking ‘why’ and start delivering ‘how.’ #ConnexLeadershipNetworks #HousingLeadership #EDIInAction #TheChairsChallenge #HonestConversations.

🌟 Concluding Connex's 2024 Programme: Mastering Leadership in a Virtual and Inclusive World 🌟 As we closed this year's series of events, we were privileged to have Jotham Annan, Co-Founder of Armatos, lead our final session. His expertise in executive communication enriched our understanding of how effective leadership transcends verbal interactions, integrating both the external and internal selves. Key takeaways: Impact and Leadership - Leaders' influence is profoundly shaped by their presence and how they make stakeholders feel.
