City in the Community reposted this
“I was struggling with my mental health and that one day a week was an escape for me, a place to enjoy myself. I have changed so much. My confidence, the way I am as a person.” With support from Premier League Kicks, Addison gained the confidence to be an inspiration to others. At nine years old, he began attending #PLKicks sessions run by City in the Community. By taking part for an hour a week, he gained confidence, developed coping skills and found a space to be himself. Eleven years later, Addison is now a coach on City in the Community’s disability programme and is passionate about inspiring the next generation to reach their potential both on and off the pitch. Discover Addison's story here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d4C39AXH More than half a million young people like Addison have engaged with Premier League Kicks since the programme began in 2006. If you used to go to Premier League Kicks, we want to hear from you too! Take part in our quick evaluation survey here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ddQjhZ7R #PLMoreThanAGame

Last week three members of the City in the Community family were celebrated at the Football Black List Awards, Manchester 2024! We are incredibly proud of our Life President, Alex Williams MBE, and Community Outreach Manager, Kimoni Bell, who were both recognised at the awards, which honours and commemorates Black achievement from individuals who have advanced grassroots football in the region. Community Outreach Lead Coach, Lathan Forrester, also took to the stage as part of a Q&A. Congratulations, all!
