Cherie Blair Foundation for Women
International Trade and Development
Together, we will eliminate the global gender gap in entrepreneurship.
About us
The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women works with women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries. We work together to enable women entrepreneurs to reach their potential. We are committed to eliminating the global gender gap in entrepreneurship and creating a future where women entrepreneurs thrive. Since our inception in 2008, we have supported more than 175,000 women to start and grow successful micro, small and medium-sized businesses in over 100 countries. Training, mentoring, networking, and collaboration are at the heart of our work, deploying technology innovatively to reach and connect with more women worldwide. Our approach opens doors for women entrepreneurs to networks, finance, new markets, investments and opportunities. As a result, women create a future for themselves, their families, and their communities. In turn, they contribute to more robust economies, global gender equality and a thriving entrepreneurial sector.

Earlier this year, we shared exciting plans to reach 19,500 women entrepreneurs across Sub-Saharan Africa with DHL Express by 2026. This will bring the total number of women supported through the partnership since 2020 to 45,000! But these women are more than just numbers. They represent incomes boosted, jobs created, vital services provided, and communities strengthened. What's more, they provide crucial role modelling to the women who come after them, creating a brighter future for women's entrepreneurship. We're proud to share some of these women's stories, which they've generously shared with us this year; from a sustainable farmer in Kenya to a fashion brand in South Africa and everything in between. Their businesses journeys and motivations are sure to uplift and inspire you. See for yourself: https://lnkd.in/ezUmpxYm Thanks to DHL Express, as well as our delivery partners Smart Regional Consultants (SRC) and GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) for making these success stories possible. #WomenEntrepreneurs #Entrepreneurship #WomeninBusiness

Don't miss this insightful conversation with our founder, Cherie Blair CBE (Cherie Booth K.C.), and host, Cristiana Falcone, on the Business Ethics Summit's podcast! In it, they discuss how women entrepreneurs are harnessing the power of digital tools, such as #AI, to improve their business outcomes. They also explore the top challenges that women entrepreneurs face— from lacking access to finance to experiencing online harassment and discrimination— and how we can support them. 🌍♻️ Happy Sustainable Entrepreneurship Day! Women-led micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in societies and economies, but did you know they also fuel sustainable development? MSMEs provide vital products and services in their communities. They often work with locally sourced goods and include other MSMEs in their supply chains. This means they have lower carbon footprints than large international companies, and that they boost local economies. Many of the women we work with run MSMEs with environmentally focused missions. Their businesses improve access to affordable and clean energy, promote responsible consumption and production, and so much more. You can read their stories on our website: https://lnkd.in/e46zbccw #SustainableEntrepreneurshipDay #SustainableBusiness #WomenEntrepreneurs

We are delighted to share that we recently won the "Humane Leadership: Empowering Women" award at the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) 3rd annual Client Dinner. The award acknowledges the significant impact of our efforts in supporting women across the region, which would not be possible without the collaboration of GIBS and the vital support of our valued corporate partner, DHL Express. We look forward to another fantastic year of impact and collaboration in 2025. #WomenEntrepreneurs #Entrepreneurship
