Geothermal Development Company - CeraPhi Energy reposted this
Today Geothermal Development Company - CeraPhi Energy from Great Yarmouth is heading back to Westminster. Myself Gary Williams and Russell Hoare will be part of a breakfast event arranged by Net Zero Technology Centre, to talk to MP's about the innovative projects that have been supported by UK government, that are supporting the development of new technologies and pushing the boundaries to helping new ideas in energy transition and net zero become realities. #CeraPhi Energy have worked with #NZTC and other industry partners since the summer of 2023 to successfully turn a former #shale gas well in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, located in the #Ryedale valley, that was an on the books liability, to the previous operators Third Energy, into a #geothermal asset. This asset now has the potential to to provide #decarbonised heat for multiple local #heatnetwork schemes along with other wells on the same site and in the local area. CeraPhi Energy are working closely with local authorities and investors to move this project forward. The project to prove this concept and make it happen, could not have got off the ground without the support of NZTC and the team in Aberdeen. Even though this project with NZTC is now complete and the report should be published shortly, the work for CeraPhi is not over by any means. Before we begin realise the potential fully and start delivering net zero heating to local communities, we plan to use this interim period to test and validate other ideas, such as enhanced materials or improved well design along with other ideas that will further improve the process and we are looking for partners to help deliver this and work with us on the exciting next step. Local projects under review may include district heating for residential use, heating public buildings, leisure centres and multiple #agricultural projects. 2025 is going to be a very exciting year, not just for CeraPhi Energy, but for the future of Deep Geothermal in the UK. We hope today will be a great success and we look forward to talking to MP's and Ministers from across the UK as well as those local to us in Great Yarmouth and North Yorkshire, about the scalable growth, revenue and job creation that #geothermal can deliver. #greatyarmouth #NorthYorkshire #netzero Rupert Lowe MP Kevin Hollinrake MP

Yesterday, we had the fantastic opportunity to exhibit at the Careers Aspiration Day organised by Norfolk County Council at The King’s Centre in Great Yarmouth. CeraPhi's Barry Read gave an engaging presentation to eager Year 10 and 11 students from schools across the county, introducing them to the exciting opportunities in the energy sector. It was inspiring to see so many enthusiastic young minds curious about the future of energy and the potential of renewable resources like #geothermal. At CeraPhi, we’re committed to fostering the next generation of talent in energy. Thank you to Norfolk County Council for hosting such an impactful event and to all the students who stopped by to learn more about how they can shape the future of sustainable energy. 💡🌱 #CeraPhi #FutureOfEnergy #CareersAspirationDay #NorfolkCountyCouncil #InspiringTheFuture #Geothermal #EnergyTransition

On Remembrance Day, we honor the courage, sacrifices, and resilience of those who fought for our freedom and peace. The contributions of veterans and their families continue to inspire us, reminding us of the strength and unity needed to uphold our shared values. Interestingly, geothermal energy played a unique role in the war efforts, especially during World War II. Geothermal resources were used for heating barracks and military facilities in areas like Iceland, which were critical to supporting Allied forces in the cold climates. By tapping into natural geothermal springs, these efforts helped conserve other fuel resources for transport and machinery, contributing to greater efficiency and sustainability on the frontlines. These geothermal installations supported the health and well-being of troops stationed far from home, providing them warmth and comfort amid the harsh conditions. Today, as we remember their sacrifices, we also acknowledge the innovations that contributed to their resilience. #GeothermalEnergy #RemembranceDay #Veterans

Geothermal Development Company - CeraPhi Energy is please to share that the initial feasibility report on geothermal community heating network supported by the PTCIC Pickering Town Community Interest Company has been completed, offering a promising vision for a more sustainable future for rural communities across the country. Mike Potter, a PTCIC Board Member, said, “This project presents an exciting alternative to fossil fuels with the opportunity to develop new net zero infrastructure while repurposing legacy assets for sustainable and renewable energy use. Not only can we reduce costs and carbon emissions, but we also strengthen the town’s energy security, protecting residents from potential future energy price fluctuations. If successful, this could have massive implications nationally.” #Pickering #NorthYorkshire #HeatNetwork #DeepGeothermal #Geothermal #EnergyTransition Read More: https://lnkd.in/efkzs5nk
