🔝 Our Top 5 Key Take Aways from CENSIS 2024 The Intelligens Consulting team recently attended the CENSIS 2024 Technology Summit, where we spoke to numerous technology firms and listened to panels discuss the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of local authorities. Drawing on the discussions and insights shared at the event, here are five key takeaways to guide your organisation's journey in digital transformation: 1. Leadership Drives Change Clear vision and strong leadership are essential to inspire teams and successfully implement transformation initiatives. 2. Embracing a Culture of Change Digital transformation starts with a willingness to change. Local authorities need to foster a culture that embraces innovation and recognises the tangible benefits digital solutions can bring. 3. Improving Citizen Experiences Digital solutions should focus on enhancing how citizens engage with services, ensuring accessibility, efficiency, and satisfaction. 4. Leveraging Emerging Technologies IoT, AI, and predictive analytics offer game-changing opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive better outcomes. 5. Scalable and Incremental Change Starting small and scaling fast ensures manageable transformation, delivering quick wins. This includes identifying the best areas for investment and expenditure to maximise impact and align with long-term objectives. At Intelligens Consulting , we are committed to supporting local authorities in implementing these principles effectively. If you'd like to discuss how these insights could apply to your organisation, let’s connect or email us on [email protected] or check out how our digital transformation programme can help you deliver more for less: https://buff.ly/3CRXTKT #DigitalTransformation #SmartCities #LocalGovernmentInnovation

  • 🌟 Celebrating another amazing year for Heriot-Watt Robotics Society🌟 Our CEO Paul Winstanley met the team behind Heriot-Watt University's Robotics Society a couple of years ago now, and was so impressed with their spirit, verve, commitment to inclusivity and passion for sharing ideas that he decided CENSIS should sponsor them. We're pleased to have caught up with Bruce W. from the society recently for an update on what's taken place this year, and what the society did with our donation - and what a year it has been. 🎉 The society has seen a huge boost in engagement, with more members participating and forming friendships within the society. It’s heart-warming to see this community growing. 💛 🚗 Mario Kart-Inspired Workshop Success Last semester, the group wrapped up its Mario Kart-inspired robotics workshop 🏎️ with members building robots from scratch and competing in an race🏆. The society's newly designed and painted racetrack is a standout feature for this year and will be used for future competitions too. Check out the photos 👉 https://lnkd.in/exNt3xKV. 🔧 Online Parts Database In other exciting news, the team has upgraded its parts database from a labour-intensive spreadsheet to a fully online system 🌐 making it much easier for members to browse and borrow parts. It's wonderful to see this group thriving, and we look forward to seeing what they do next. 🎉 #Robotics #Innovation #Community #Technology #CENSIS

PhD Scholar at Edinburgh Napier University

🚊 One-day trip to Glasgow for CENSIS #TechnologySummit 2024! 💫 At this year’s Censis tech summit, I had the privilege of presenting my latest research, ‘Digital Twin-empowered Green Mobility Management in Next-Gen Transportation Networks’, recently published in the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology (IEEE OJVT). 🐝 As part of my PhD journey at Edinburgh Napier University's SCEBE, this study tackles the challenge of high emission rates in UK road transportation. In this research, we propose a Digital Twin-based analysis and management framework with a novel right-time data capturing mechanism for greener mobility solutions. For further details, you can visit: https://lnkd.in/dKnVA-C9. 🙏 I am deeply grateful to my supervisor, Prof. Berk Canberk, for his endless support and visionary guidance during my academic journey. My special thanks to esteemed Professors Prof. Achille Fonzone and Prof. Trung Q. Duong for their invaluable support in making this interdisciplinary research a success! Also a close thank to my colleague Lal Verda Çakır for her supportive contributions. And thank you to everyone who visited my poster and engaged in discussions on IoT data collection, intelligent processing, and digital twin synchronization challenges. 🤓 Beyond the poster session, I enjoyed #keynote speeches, interactive sessions on sustainable IoT, and the vibrant exhibition area—where, last year, we showcased our Digital Twin platform. 👏 Huge thank you to Paul Winstanley, Siân Williams, and the entire organizing team for such a flawless event. It was a great experience connecting with so many experts and exchanging ideas on #IoT, #DigitalTwins, #AI, and more! BTS Group | BTS LABS

A fascinating day discovering the opportunities to support innovation at CENSIS and PNDC. Both centres support commercialisation and leveraging of research and opportunities to de-risk and validate novel solutions. The Centre of Excellence for Sensing, Imaging and Internet of Things technologies in Glasgow had a number of scaling and deployed solutions demonstrated in the living lab. With the opportunity of connected devices to monitor, predict and alert there is significant expertise here open to collaboration. They help bridge the gap between technology concepts, application, scale and impact. University of Strathclyde’s Power Networks Demonstration Centre is a whole energy systems research, test and demonstration facility with a focus on the de-risking and acceleration of novel electricity, heat and transport systems that have the potential to make a material contribution to the realisation of net zero emissions. On site in WardPark is a unique facility of test assets and capabilities including 11kV configurable overhead (60km equivalent) distribution network.
