Fresh out the studio, new website just launched! rosalindcrone.com 🔥
Woop - another week, another release into the wild! I had a lot of fun working on this new personal website for Professor Rosalind Crone. Any podcast & history buffs might recognise her as one of the lead detectives on 'Lady Killers with Lucy Worsley', the smash hit BBC podcast (and now live show) 🕵🏻♀️ Away from her academic persona, Rosalind needed a digital CV to showcase her varied work projects and why she's *THE* 19th century historian available for hire. So we crafted a bespoke website design complete with logo & visual identity to do exactly that! 🔥 August community round-up 🔥 --- Halfway through the month and we've shifted a huge amount of 'things' out of our studio / homes / storage unit and passed to the right people who need them - it's been a busy few weeks! ➡️ A boot-load for Baby Basics This week we're donating a pile of baby essentials to Baby Basics UK, a charity supporting new mothers who might struggle to afford what they need. Our pile includes a Moses basket, stairgate, nappies, high chair and 3 biiig bags of baby clothes and toys taken to the Vale branch. ➡️ Local playgroup donation A long time ago a client gifted us a giant pink parachute - it was awesome, but not a lot of call for it over the years! Happily we've now donated it to a local Cylch Meithrin playgroup in Penarth who are super excited for parachute games and making shelters. ➡️ Litter-pick to keep Penarth tidy We've got a litter-pick and team breakfast scheduled for Fri 22nd August, excited to see how much we can collect Keep Wales Tidy - any local businesses who want to join us and double our efforts, just shout! 😁 #studionews #penarth

Miro - not a tool we use every day by any stretch, but it's such a powerful way to visualise and create plans, schedules and video storyboards. Clients love the collaborative functionality while we think it's easily the most visual way to put creative outputs against a tangible plan and get instant approval. Every content strategy should start with the end. Where will your content take people - and will they take the actions you want them to when they get there? 👩💻 We find it helpful to begin with 'getting your house in order' - there are *always* opportunities and improvements that can be made to how you've structured your pages or organised your content. One recent project we loved working on involved a shedload of great content hidden away in PDFs - our first port of call was to extract it all and put it natively into the website, so a much better experience for visitors, keeping them on-platform and engaged. We brought 86% more people to the website from social, and that's why it's important to do the work before you start shouting - because for 86% more people, the website was now a better platform that had a higher chance of converting new leads. Experimentation is a critical part of social campaigns - that's why we used a recent Meta ads campaign for a client to test whether 'glossy' higher production quality was what got the views and clicks in social videos - or if something simpler was better. Were we serving caviar when a cheeseburger was what the people wanted? 🍔 We put out two versions of one video. One was higher production; the other we shot on iPhone and was made to feel more 'real'. Apart from that difference, both ads had: ✅ Same on-screen text, graphics & messaging ✍️ Same ad caption, headline and call-to-action 💰 Same initial budget behind both ads 🙋♂️🙋♀️ Same audiences, same platforms And the big drastic difference in results? Well... nothing. 🤯 Both ads were neck-and-neck at points, and audiences responded really well to all ads. So what does this tell us? 👉 Get your strategy and messaging right, and you have flexibility and freedom with the actual content you pair it with 👉 Audiences don't need fancy production to resonate with your ads - phone-level video can work brilliantly and get the same results #digitalmarketing #socialcampaign #digitalagency

We do brilliant work, but sometimes at burningred we forget to stop the train and take stock of the absolute juggernaut of 'stuff' we get out of the door for clients on a weekly (or even daily) basis 🎨 📽️ 🖥️ Other agencies and businesses will know what I'm talking about. It's really important to actually pause and appreciate how much you do, as a small-but-nimble team. Speed, agility and flexibility are great attributes, but should never be taken for granted. So in that spirit, I'm celebrating a week of wins! Together, we... ⚙️ Reached the first review stage of a client's professional services website build 🗺️ Designed and developed a bespoke map locator functionality for a client 🎭 Finalised a new brand identity for an exciting theatre & arts organisation 🧑💻 Improved a client's website UX with added commercial elements & enhanced usability 👩🏻🎨 Designed a suite of panels for a client's upcoming international trade show 💻 Produced multiple pieces of digital sales collateral for key touchpoints on a client's customer journey 📈 Overhauled a client's legacy Google Ads account with new creative, refined keywords and improved strategy 👩💻👩💻 ...then provided a one-on-one bespoke Google Ads training session for said client Next on the agenda for this week (and slightly beyond 🚀): - Design/develop a website for a rising star in the podcast & entertainment scene (more on that later...) - Produce an industry-leading showcase video for our client's trade show - Video shoot production for a Russell Group university - Kicking off the next phase of our client's digital campaign to highlight Cardiff as a premier destination for business events & conferences Well done, team! #digitalagency #contentagency #ineedanotherholiday
