  • Thank you to everyone who has supported our events in 2024! Together, you have helped make this a truly memorable year as we toured the whole of the UK with the BPA Live series, and hosted seminars and conferences in Wales, Scotland plus the first-ever All-Ireland Parking Show.   We also welcomed you to the best ever Parkex; signed the Armed Forces Covenant; introduced the new President at their reception at One Birdcage Walk; toasted a Knight of the Realm and cricketing legend (make that two cricketing legends) at the Members' Dinner, and had afternoon tea with another legend, Baroness Floella Benjamin, with Women in Parking   And that's not all. This year we also hosted:   8 interest group meetings 7 topic-based webinars 6 Local Authority in-person forums 5 AOS sessions (4 POPLA workshops and 1 AOS Summit) 4 Escape Rooms (for the staff team to find a way out of!) 3 Higher Education/Healthcare in-person meetings 2 County Group spring seminars And the first ever London 'Capital Pod'   So before we sign off for a well-earned break, let's reflect on what we have achieved together in 2024 and we can't wait to do it all over again in 2025.

  • 🔌National Audit Office Published Report on EV Charging Infrastructure Last Friday, the National Audit Office published a new report looking at the current state of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the UK, reflecting on successes and looking to the challenges that face the industry. Amongst its recommendations, the report emphasises the importance of strengthening accessibility standards and integrating it into future installations – at the BPA, we consider accessibility to be of the utmost importance, so we’re glad to see this important issue being given focus in the report. We’re already working on increasing standards in EV charging, with our Park Access scheme improving the accessibility of parking and charging services across the country. We’re excited to see this issue at the forefront of discussions of charging infrastructure and look forward to continuing work on it. #ParkAccess #ElectricVehicles

  • Thank you for putting this together Jo Wade and supporting our #ParkAware campaign to help to raise awareness about parking payment fraud through fake QR codes in car parks. It's a very informative read! This is such an important topic to tackle to help to prevent motorists falling victim to scams and we need to be loud and clear in helping motorists to be aware, and in protecting them where possible. For anyone who would like to help spread this messaging and campaign even further, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we would be happy to provide you with an asset pack and links for your communications with motorists, as well as fraud prevention guidance. #FraudPrevention #Parking
