💚Empowering Communities Through Language Support💚 The Booth Centre in Manchester, a hub for those affected by homelessness, partnered with School of Social Sciences students to provide language support to non-English speakers. With 50 student volunteers translating documents into 22 languages and offering in-person interpretation, this initiative has addressed a growing need for inclusive, accessible services. As Megan Hadfield, a trustee of the Booth Centre, noted: "For individuals navigating housing, immigration, or employment challenges, being able to speak their native language is transformative." This collaboration not only empowers individuals to better understand their situations but also exemplifies the University’s commitment to fostering meaningful social responsibility. We’re so proud of our incredible students for using their skills to make a real difference in the community! 🙌 Read more about this amazing initiative here: https://lnkd.in/em9NftgT #SocialResponsibility #LanguageSupport #HigherEducationImpact #CommunityCollaboration
