🌍 Sustainability, AI, and Internationalisation are the three pillars shaping the future of #Corvinus_University... In an insightful interview, Bruno van Pottelsberghe, our new #Rector, shared his bold vision for our university and the future of business education. His main focuses are on: 🌐 Internationalisation 🤖 Artificial Intelligence 🌱 Sustainability 📚 Multidisciplinary Learning Inspired by Budapest's iconic bridges, his #Bridge_Strategy aims to connect #Corvinus to the global stage, fostering collaboration across borders and sectors. ✨ He further highlighted: “Corvinus has everything it needs to compete internationally. It’s time to level up and be seen as pioneers.” 👉 Read the full article on EFMD Global's blog: https://lnkd.in/ggZQsRrP

Sustainability professionals are scrambling to fill an 'extreme' digital skills gap to harness power of AI According to Trinity Business School's David Collings, awareness of the potential of AI is the all-important starting point for sustainability teams. "Deep technical expertise is not necessary, but rather an understanding how AI can contribute to the projects they are leading,” he tells Catherine Early, writing for Reuters. How should business schools respond to the changing world, with increasing focus on sustainability and the rise of AI? 🎓🌱🤖 Bruno van Pottelsberghe explored these topics and more in a recent EFMD Global piece. In August 2024, van Pottelsberghe became the new President and Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest. Previously, he was Dean of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and co-founded the QTEM Network. His career includes roles at the OECD and the European Patent Office, focusing on innovation policy and intellectual property. He identified three key challenges when asked, "What challenges do you believe business schools will face in the coming years? How can they tackle these challenges?" 📈 “Timeframe shrinking, the demand for 'instant' knowledge conversion, and internationalisation”, said van Pottelsberghe, highlighting the need for closer ties with businesses, flexible programmes, and a focus on critical thinking supported by strong research. To compete globally, he emphasises the importance of high-quality research and attracting international talent. “Students are less willing to dedicate their time solely to studying and training; they want jobs, entrepreneurial ventures, and, first and foremost, salaries and a feeling of competence earlier, and have less patience for acquiring classic academic knowledge.” He was also asked about his hopes for the future of Corvinus University and the direction of business education. 🤩 He sees Corvinus as ready to compete internationally but stresses the need to lead globally: "Regarding the future of educational and research services at Corvinus, I see three key decisive factors: artificial intelligence, sustainability and multidisciplinary approaches." New leadership roles, including deans for AI and sustainability, will support these goals at the School. Want to read the full article? Do business schools need content gurus? 📝🎓 Quality content has never been a more valuable currency for business schools with competitiveness at an all-time high. Business schools face growing pressure to highlight the impact of their research and the value of their education while competing to attract top applicants and enhance their overall reputation. This, however, puts pressure on in-house communications and marketing teams to craft this content. So, what can they do? 🧑💻 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 These specialised professionals often have a narrower remit, focusing their time and energy on creating quality content, affording other communications team members time to work on other activities. But what about schools that don’t have the budget for a full-time content creator? And what about broader PR activities? Creating impactful content is important, but there’s a lot more to external engagement than just good copy. 📨 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗥 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 Press releases, programme-specific promotion, website and media copywriting. Specialised PR providers – such as us – can deliver the same impact as content creators, and so much more! Last week, our CEO Matt Symonds, and our PR Consultants Peter Remon, Kate Mowbray, and Alex Lopez, attended the Graduate Management Admission Council™ (GMAC™) European Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. 🤩🇵🇹 The conference was hosted at Nova School of Business and Economics and was a great opportunity for those in the business education industry who work in admissions, marketing, recruitment and comms roles to connect, collaborate and learn from each other. The two-day conference offered plenty of workshops and talks based around AI in business education, diversity initiatives and how we can implement them, as well as the impact of geopolitics on admissions. 🎓 While there, Matt interviewed the Canadian Ambassador to Portugal, Elise Racicot, about the impact of geopolitics on education and the evolving political landscape. Matt also led a workshop on storytelling in admissions, focusing on how to ensure those who apply for your school eventually chose you! Want to learn more about us and our industry?
