Understanding the extent to which sales performance is being impacted by a lack of SKILL or a lack of WILL in your sellers is critical if sales leaders are to provide them with the right support. Acuity Talent Analytics plots the SKILL and WILL of every seller. This graphic gives a visual representation of the whole team when compared to our benchmark. 🔎 In this example there are six Sales Exemplars who achieve above benchmark scores for both SKILL and WILL. 🔎 There are two Enthusiastic Followers who have the sales WILL but require some targeted SKILL development. 🔎 There is one Knowledge Centre who has the sales SKILL but is below benchmark for WILL. Sales Exemplars may require only minor refinement (think marginal gains) to unlock even greater performance and so a training course risks switching them off if they feel it is repeating content they already know well and taking them away from their clients. Enthusiastic Followers may benefit most from skills training BUT only if it addresses their specific skills gaps. Knowledge Centres are lacking motivation and need to be re-engaged. Our work with Global showed the power of the Acuity for Strategic Sales Capabilities; sellers who consistently demonstrated these behaviours generated 23% more in revenue than their peers. The client had identified that understanding of customer needs and ability to assess intent to purchase were low. We used the Acuity for Strategic Sales framework to demonstrate What Great Looks Like. Every seller and their manager evaluated the individual against the Acuity Capabilities. Each seller received a personalised report highlighting strengths and development priorities to enable them to take immediate action. The Acuity Analytics sales benchmarking data enabled Global to clearly see differences between regions and teams so that more tailored training interventions could be delivered to meet local needs.
