This can range from local charity work, school visits, work experience and using local subcontractors. HE Simms and VINCI are working on the new town centre office for the Department of Work and Pensions. Since the project began in July 2023, Blackpool's Eco Coaches have helped over 600 Blackpool households to become more environmentally friendly and reduce fuel bills. Now based at the Blackpool's Eco Hub at Palatine Library, which opened this year, the team of experienced advisors deliver a range of programmes, workshops and help for residents. Here's some of what they've achieved so far: ★ 615 Blackpool households supported to date – including home visits, installation of energy saving measures and more ★ 3,539 small scale energy saving measures installed - including items such as LED lightbulbs, draft proofing strips and reflective radiator panels to name a few ★ 32.6 (tonnes of co2) greenhouse gas reductions - that’s around 16 years of natural gas usage in a typical home! Work to build a temporary car park behind the Holiday Inn on Talbot Road has started this week. The work is being done by George Cox Ltd and is expected to be complete in spring 2025. Preparatory work is taking place from this week, with activity increasing in the new year. The Holiday Inn Blackpool, an IHG Hotel and tram extension opened this summer, as phase two of the Talbot Gateway regeneration around Blackpool North train station.
