More Exciting News Shared at Our Last News and Networking Event! At last month’s event, Stuart Howarth revealed that DPD has announced plans for a 63,000 sq ft parcel depot right here on The Business Park. This initiative is set to bring 250 new jobs and secure a further 125 roles, marking a major milestone for the North East. Construction is expected to begin early next year, with the new depot helping DPD strengthen its regional network and boost sustainability efforts. As Louise Ferguson, DPD Group UK’s Head of Property, said: “It is our aim to be the most sustainable delivery company in the UK and a leader in the move to electric delivery vehicles. We have invested heavily in our regional network in the last ten years to meet the huge increase in demand for our services, and this new base will allow us to offer an even better service to the area, with more efficient fleet, shorter journeys, and lower emissions.” This exciting project is part of a £100 million development scheme, with the site already drawing significant interest from other potential occupiers. Jon Robinson, Barberry Development Director, added: “This is a major pre-let to DPD, which demonstrates the quality of our proposed development, its connectivity, and proximity to the motorway. It will allow us to open up the site and create additional estate infrastructure and development plateaus.” This is a fantastic development for our region and a reflection of the thriving business community in Newton Aycliffe! #NewtonAycliffe #BusinessGrowth #Sustainability #DPD #CommunityDevelopment
