For the first time, we've hosted a cyber scenario workshop for members, in collaboration with our Associate Member, Baringa. This event provided a fantastic opportunity for members to explore and address a fictitious cyber challenge and share varied and innovative approaches to combat the challenges faced. Our members brought invaluable insights and expertise, making the discussions incredibly productive and forward-thinking. A huge thank you to all participants for their thought-provoking contributions and a special thanks to Baringa, in particular, Salina Ladha, Connor Latimer, Alexandra Phillips, Dan R, and Anya Forster for facilitating the session and to our Operational Resilience team, Xavier Solano i Bello and Janice Fordjour, for making it possible. We look forward to more collaborative efforts in the future! #AssociationofBritishInsurers #Insurance #LongTermSavings #CyberResilience #CyberRisk #OperationalResilience

NEWS | ABI and Lloyd's publish guidance on major cyber events As one of the most prominent systemic and emerging risks, there are not many historic major cyber events for insurers to look at when trying to establish clear definitions and policy wording. The ‘Components of a Major Cyber Event: A (Re)Insurance Approach’ seeks to address this by setting out the factors (re)insurers should consider and provides a framework to follow when defining what constitutes a major cyber event. Our 'Multiverse of Prudential Regulation' event has concluded. Many thanks to all our speakers, delegates, and to our event sponsors, VantagePoint and Wolters Kluwer, for making it all happen. A shout out to the winner of the very first ABI Prudential Regulation quiz trophy and prize, Matt Benaron, CEO of Vantage Point – we promise this result was not fixed! In addition to the insights shared by David Bailey, Executive Director for Prudential Policy, Prudential Regulation Authority, on the material issues on the regulator’s radar, we also had not one but six expert speaker sessions, covering the most important themes in our prudential regulation multiverse. Rob Ferguson, Royal London, discussed the importance of implementing the lessons learnt from the fallout of the autumn 2022 mini budget. He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between industry, the ABI and the regulators on liquidity risk management. Matthew C., Baringa, provided key insights on operational resilience ahead of the regulator’s March 2025 deadline for firms to set and remain within their impact tolerances. Iain Macintyre, Hymans Robertson, provided an overview of Funded Reinsurance, and the key features of this tool that are the subject of heightened regulatory attention. Emily Grewcock, Deloitte, discussed the PRA’s Solvent Exit planning proposals, and the steps still outstanding for the creation of a UK insurance Resolution regime. Jo Clube, Aviva, gave insights into the key features and outputs from the 2024 system wide exploratory scenario (SWES), and on what we can expect from the 2025 life and general insurance stress tests. Matt Benaron, VantagePoint, and Andy Moss CA, CCH® Tagetik - Wolters Kluwer, provided a live example of the benefits of technology and innovation, and how both can be deployed by an insurer. Finally, Isaac Alfon, Crowe UK, hosted an insightful and engaging panel with all these subject matter experts. They provided additional valuable information to delegates on their areas of expertise and the topics on which they presented. In short, it was an excellent event and we all can’t wait to welcome you to #ABIPrudential next year! We just wonder what we will call it... 🤔 #AssociationofBritishInsurers #Insurance #LongTermSavings #PrudentialRegulation
