  • For the startup founders and scaleup leaders in my network. I've been talking about supercharging your B2B performance with goal-setting, KPIs and OKRs all week. Have you ever wondered why some teams crush their targets while others struggle? The secret is in how you set and pursue your goals. Here's what you need to know: A. Goal-Setting Setting specific, challenging goals can boost productivity by a whopping 18%. That's cold, hard data. For you, that could mean: • More deals closed • Faster product launches • Leaner teams doing more B. Psychology Hacks 1. Tap into intrinsic motivation. When your team's personal growth aligns with company goals, magic happens. 2. Build that confidence circle. A team that believes it can achieve is already halfway there. 3. Use the goal gradient effect. As you get closer to the finish line, effort naturally ramps up. Harness it! C. Make It Happen • SMART goals aren't just a buzzword. They work. Make them specific and watch your team rally to positive results. • Challenge your team, but keep it realistic. Stretch goals are great, but don't pull too hard or they can break the team. • Break it down. Big goals into bite-sized tasks. Keep the momentum flowing. • Feedback is your friend. Regular check-ins keep everyone on track and motivated. • Culture eats strategy for breakfast. Foster an environment where everyone's collaborating about hitting targets. D. OKRs and KPIs Align these frameworks and: • Make OKRs specific and challenging, but achievable • Link KPIs to what intrinsically drives your team • Keep them flexible – market conditions change, and so should your targets Remember, goal-setting isn't a set-it-and-forget-it process. It's a living, breathing part of your startup or scaleups journey. Keep refining, keep pushing, and watch your B2B startup soar. If you are a leader in B2B SaaS or Fintech and its goal setting or strategy season, we'd love to talk. #AriseGTM #GTMStrategy

  • Goal setting and strategy season means it's all about the numbers and this week I've already given you OKRs and KPIs. But there's more to strategy than just these two! Here are some alternative ideas on goal-setting models that might just give you food for thought. SMART Goals: Nothing new here, but these goals bring clarity and focus, perfect when you're spinning a million plates (and let's face it, when are we not?). Balanced Scorecard: It's essentially a health check for your entire business. Finance, customers, processes, growth - all in one tidy framework. Management by Objectives: Get your team fired up by letting them co-create goals. This approach gains you maximum employee engagement. Now, I'm not saying ditch OKRs or KPIs if they're working for you. But if you're feeling stuck or just fancy a change, why not give these a try? With so many apporaches available, the truth is that you should find what works for you and stick with it. Remember, the best framework is the one that fits YOUR unique business. So don't be afraid to mix and match or even create your own hybrid system! What's your go-to goal-setting method? Drop it in the comments below. P.S - I created a system called ARISE GTM, it's a holistic GTM methodology that carries over 150 KPIs as standard across the organisation. Let me know if you'd like to know more. #StartupLife #ScaleUpStrategies #GoalSetting #BusinessGrowth #AriseGTM

  • GTM planning starts with research, but for founders and business leaders, your eyes are on a bigger prize like setting short and long-term business goals and strategic objectives. My last post talked about OKRs and today i'm diving into KPIs. In 15 years of coaching, mentoring and agency services, I've seen too many startups crash and burn because they're flying blind tracking the wrong metrics. Realistic and Achievable are where the focus should be. Here's where you should focus, and what to look out for: 1. Turnover isn't everything. That's right, I said it. Look at your CAC and LTV. If you're spending £100 to get a customer worth £50, you're in trouble. Payback and profitability are what's important here. 2. Happy customers stick around, and that's where the real money is. Churn is a silent killer. Keep an eye on it. 3. Forget vanity metrics. Sign ups mean squat if no one's using your product. Focus on active users and engagement. 4. Cash is king. Know your runway. If you're burning through cash like there's no tomorrow, there might not be one for your startup. 5. Sales cycle length matters. The shorter, the better. If it's taking forever to close deals, something's off. Deal velocity is a key metric here. Remember, what you measure, you can improve. But don't go crazy with 50 different KPIs. Pick 5-7 that really matter for your stage and crush those. What's your most important KPI right now? Drop it in the comments. Let's learn from each other. 👇 P.S - Did you know my proprietary ARISE GTM Methodology® has 151 standard KPIs across marketing, sales, customer success, people and finance. Comment KPIs in with any other comments and i'll share them with you. #StartupAdvice #KPIs #GrowthHacking #AriseGTM
