🌟 Today we're spotlighting Gavin Melling, one of our amazing Support Workers here at AFG... Before joining AFG five years ago, Gavin was struggling with personal life issues and mental health challenges. However, Gavin says that being a Support Worker has given him a renewed sense of purpose, and allowed him to channel his energy into making a positive difference. 🗣️ Gavin said: "I'm proud of how far I've come during my 5 years at AFG, despite initially being nervous having never done support work before. I struggled at first, but eventually settled in to my Support Worker role... I've laughed and cried during the last 5 years at AFG. I'm grateful to be part of a fantastic team who support each other in the hard times, and celebrate our achievements in the good times. I'm also incredibly proud to have recently won the 'We Make a Positive Difference' Award at AFG's Amazing People Awards - but this wouldn't have been possible without a great team supporting me." 📽️ Watch this video to learn more about Gavin and the positive difference he makes... https://bit.ly/3Bl5wZE #SocialCare #MentalHealth #LearningDisability #StaffRecognition

At AFG, we’re proud to support people to achieve their personal goals and aspirations, no matter how big or small. For Rodney, one of the people we support in Lancashire, his dream was to reconnect with his brother - who he hadn’t seen or heard from in over 50 years. With Rodney's determination and the help of his support team, The Salvation Army Family Tracing Service recently found Rodney's brother, John. The news brought a huge smile to Rodney’s face, and together, they’ve started writing letters to reconnect and share their stories. 💌 This heartwarming journey shows the importance of family connection, and we're so excited to see what comes next for Rodney and John! 💚 #SocialCare #LearningDisability #NorthWest #FamilyReunion
