About us
There was a time when we had a lot of time free, so we stumbled into the outdoors. We worked in an outdoor shop, saved some cash, and got ourselves kitted out. We travelled, did some routes and life was good. Then our kit started falling apart, we were no longer students and we realised the cost of replacing it. As we waited to pick up yet another x-xtra large fleece in the sales we patched up our waterproofs and wore an extra jumper in our smelly sleeping bags. During this time we realised that the passing years had taught us something, we had the experience to create something new. And somewhere therein lays the real story of how Alpkit.com™ was born. Born out of the passion for outdoor activity and not accepting the costs involved in getting quality equipment in our sacks. Four ordinary people trying to make some thing extraordinary. And why Alpkit.com™? it's just a name.. we go to the alps, we climb, we paddle, we board, we visit our in laws.. we produce kit.. we didn't want it to be complicated.

It was great to be able to add this little support through the Alpkit Foundation towards some facial trauma workshops linked with World Extreme Medicine | B Corp Certified Important training for difficult scenarios, whether for search and rescue, expedition or disaster relief, for those looking to take their medical paths into the more remote and extreme environments.

How can we deal with Facial Injury! Dental Emergencies! In an Austere Environment. University of Exeter Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Masters Students in World Extreme Medicine | B Corp Certified had intense workshops on this subject. Totally hands on training was accomplished by utilising all actual materials kindly provided by 🎲Edward Opalka SICH Tourniquet, Innovative Trauma Care Inc. (iTClamp) Galen Ltd Penthrox TSG Associates LLP Xtract SR Heat Saver System. THERMARMOUR Insulated Stretchers & Blankets. This time we practiced a large part of patient packaging and carry under cover of emergency shelter provided by Alpkit Foundation.

These opportunities are incredible tools to bring people together, to tackle issues that cross diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, education and awareness. Here's to those people and projects which lie at the heart of that community spirit and demonstrates the strength that these groups bring. Small awards towards big strides outdoors. Through the Alpkit Foundation we have now gone over £750,000 of support to more than 2,500 projects. These are driven by real activists among our communities and those deeply passionate about the benefits of time outdoors. This review is once again built of those little snippets of joy. We're still buzzing from Big Shakeout Festival 🏕️ Returning for its 14th year and raising funds for the Alpkit Foundation, we took over Thornbridge Outdoors in the heart of the Peak District to celebrate all things outdoors and adventure as we wrap up for Autumn. From abseiling to canoeing, DJ sets to legendary outdoor speakers - there really ain't no party like an Alpkit party.
