  • 🎄Walking in a Winter Wonderland❄️ Earlier this month, Adwanted UK went out for their Christmas Party at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park! We swapped our usual party attire for cozy coats, hats and scarves and braved the cold as we headed off to this London winter landmark. Some of us sipped drinks in the Ice Bar, while others hit the ice rink and the thrill seekers among us went on some of the many rides before the rain came down. The night ended with us all enjoying some hearty German food and beers and a massive sing-along in the Bavarian Beer Hall.   • 🎄 Oh Christmas Tree! 🎄 It's that time of year again! Even though for many teams at Adwanted UK this is a very busy time of year, with big scale Events happening, deadlines to be met and many pieces of Audio to be delivered, we made sure the office was getting into the festive spirit!   • The Christmas television ratings battle is traditionally a fairly one sided fight between BBC and ITV, with the former rolling out its big guns to entertain the great British public while the commercial giant takes a festive break. With the final ever episode of the much loved Essex/Welsh comedy series taking prime position in BBC One's Christmas Day schedule, it will be interesting to see if the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special will once again garner the highest viewing figure of the period. Last seen on Christmas Day 2019, the Ruth Jones/James Corden created comedy was watched by 17.9 million people according to figures from Barb Audiences. The big questions left to be answered are whether Nessa's marriage proposal was accepted and what exactly happened on that fishing trip?   • “I think measurement is frustrating and frankly — as my American friends say — a hot mess,” said Jenny Bullis, Dentsu Media’s UK and Ireland CEO. In her keynote speech, Bullis was particularly critical of attribution techniques that seek to credit a particular media channel or campaign for a direct impact on an advertiser’s sales. Bullis explained: “I’ve spent a lot of money on attribution in my time. I’ve also raised a lot of money selling attribution modelling. “And what I mean by attribution is data-driven attribution, multi-touch attribution, rules-based attribution — basically anything where digital data is pulled from standard ad platform reporting and refactored into a new calculation and weighted. It’s attribution and it’s wrong."
