I’m excited to announce that I’ve completed my first business exit from BUNO Coffee Roasters, a journey that spanned over 4 incredible years. What started as an idea during the Accelerate ME program in the The University of Manchester evolved into a full-scale coffee production facility and one of the first coffee subscription services in Ukraine. Over the course of this journey, we produced and sold the equivalent of more than 11 million cups of freshly roasted coffee 🤯 This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people who contributed along the way. Building a business is never a solo endeavor. A special thanks to Kiran Arokiasamy and Olivier Welscher from Accelerate ME for their support in the early days, and to Kyrylo Lazarev with Ivan Lomov, whose unwavering expertise and dedication helped us overcome immense challenges 🤝 Together, we successfully navigated the difficulties of COVID-19 and the unprecedented trials brought on by the war, all while keeping our team safe and ensuring the business continued to grow. For the past year, I’ve been fully dedicated to my work at DTEK, where we are driving impactful change in Ukraine’s energy sector alongside an incredible team, including Nacho Gimenez, Andrii Bondar, Oksana Dybkina, Margaryta Grachova and Serhii Tankevych. The lessons I learned from building Buno - managing complex operations, overcoming disruptions, and leading through crises - have been invaluable. I’m now applying those skills to lead innovation and contribute to sustainable energy solutions, which makes this next chapter in my career even more exciting. P.S. Buno Coffee Roasters will continue to operate under a talented new ownership team with deep experience in the coffee industry, and I’m excited to watch it reach new heights 🚀

And it's all come to a celebratory end just a few days back at Bruntwood SciTech's Circle Square where Cohort X, The Team (as in THE DREAM TEAM) of AME, our partners, friends, parents, peers, alumni, mentors, advisors and more have all joined us in showcasing the brilliant minds within and around the UK's top student-led startup accelerator programme! 🎀 Carina Palita and Alexia Elena Catutoiu shared their life-changing experience Accelerate ME was for them whilst supporting startups for 3 years in a row; 🏡Harry Neil Panter, 2020 Alumni, had a fireside chat with mentor and friend Sam Thomas Alexander Royle on going from zero to hero whilst planting the seeds of your ideas in our Accelerator Programme; 🚀🚀Cohort X pitched their businesses which was the clear highlight🚀🚀 Accelerate ME, through its people, of whom I can only mention a bunch per post (otherwise LinkedIn marks my posts as spam apparently😡), build businesses, innovate, change the world, and most importantly change other people. I know for a fact. It changed me. For the indisputable, absolute better. 🚀 🚀 🚀 Demo Day in 2 days 🚀 🚀 🚀 ✈ Time really does fly by😀 📊 Coming back from the Easter Holiday, Accelerate ME has continued to support our most competitive cohort yet, Cohort X, in building their ventures. Our 12 startups have been hard at work getting ready to graduate from the UK's top student-led startup accelerator program! 🎡 Mid-April we organized a London Trip to offer our startups the chance to experience the ecosystem in the Big Smoke. We partnered up with our friends at Plexal to develop their pitch decks with the help of Alexia and Alexandru Toader, LADbible Group cc Ben Elshaw to get a first-hand overview of what a Manchester success turned global looks like and EdenBase cc Christopher Hill to understand what investments and the VC world looks like with a global outlook. 🏘 We then had a subsequent fireside chat with Raam Shankar and Marc Shirman at Department's Bonded Warehouse cc Rich Jones to give our startups a chance to ask any and all questions on what investors look for when considering supporting an early stage startup. 🕴 Immediately after, our partners' team at HGF Limited in Manchester cc Lee Curtis talked to us a whole lot about Intellectual Property and why it is so important to consider which parts of the businesses or even founders (did you know that some superstars have patented their EYES?) need to go under patent or trademark consideration. ☀ We then informally wrapped up the program in Bruntwood SciTech's Circle Square cc Scot Furness Dan Sparrow having reflected on the journey we have gone through over the past 4 months and also listening to some very cool stories about what some Alumni of Accelerate ME are currently up to - thank you for that Eniola Elijah Ajuwon! 📡 After this, our very own and amazing Alexia Elena Catutoiu, having interned at Plug and Play Tech Center all year, has helped each and every one of them to refine their pitch decks and get them ready to set sail in their next chapter! 🤑 Dragon's Den took place this week, with 4 brilliant Dragons - Jessica Jackson of Praetura Ventures, Sam Thomas Alexander Royle of SoSquared Alex Klein as an exited founder of a global procurement business and Raam Shankar as a private investor and president of TiE UK North diligently evaluating their performance.
