Through having access to a comprehensive range of instrument technologies, from the traditional to the very latest, and having our package procurement team, Able can offer the best available solution to meet the demands of the measurement regardless of manufacturer. More importantly, our customers do not have to compare dissimilar products and work out the benefits and pitfalls for themselves.   • Further to our recent announcement regarding the launching of the Model UX5000 ATEX Clamp-on Flowmeter and ABLE’s new and exclusive alliance with the manufacturer Micronics, the deal has now been sealed with a handshake.   This post shows James Charlton, Micronics' Head of Sales & Service, and ABLE’s Sales Manager, Simon Smith, endorsing the new arrangement. The combination of Micronics' inventive endeavour and ABLE’s long term success at the rock-face of ultrasonic flow metering bodes well for a fruitful union.   As we have done for the last few years, ABLE will continue to promote the full range of Micronics flow meters but the addition of the ATEX Zone 1 approved UX5000 opens up many opportunities in the process industries.   • A Rheonik Messtechnik GmbH Coriolis mass flow metering skid awaits third party inspection and subsequent despatch to CNOOC for deployment: CNOOC’s current International strategy is to maximise recovery from the Scott and Telford fields in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, defer abandonment costs and attract third party or equity tieback developments. As part of the upgrade to facilitate this policy, the new rigid Telford water injection pipeline will be trenched by ploughing with the top of the line approximately 0.6m below the seabed. CNOOC require precise injection of scale inhibitor into the system and ABLE have been contracted to provide a dosing skid equipped with three stainless steel Rheonik RHM015 Coriolis Mass Flow Meters, each featuring ½” process connections. These meters were engineered to operate at 221 barg with a flow rate of 10 litres per hour, ensuring minimal pressure drop of just 0.1 bar.   • This impressive construction in Super Duplex will shortly be deployed in Harbour Energy’s Brittania Field, one of the largest natural gas and condensate fields in the North Sea processing oil, condensate and gas from the Britannia, Brodgar, Callanish, Enochdhu, Alder and Finlaggan fields. Condensate is delivered through the Forties Pipeline to the oil stabilisation and processing plant, Kerse of Kinneil, near the Grangemouth Refinery in Scotland, and natural gas is transported through a dedicated Britannia pipeline to the Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) facility at St. Fergus, Scotland. This McCrometer 10” V-Cone is capable of measuring well over 50,000,000 SCFD and has been built to stringent Norsok standards. It will replace an existing McCrometer V-Cone on the gas leg of the Callanish Separator as part of a downsizing programme (arising from flow rate, pressure and temperature changes). On first receipt of the RFQ it appeared that Harbour’s original incumbent meter could continue to be used if extracted and recalibrated, and ABLE initially made this recommendation. However, subsequent discussions with the operator disclosed that the DP was already very low and it was agreed that the meter should be replaced.   • Clean Power Hydrogen (CPH2) in Doncaster are ahead of the curve when it comes to the production of hydrogen as an energy carrier. They produce Green Hydrogen using renewable electricity, the only type of this diatomic gas that creates zero emissions in its production.   This model RHM30 / RHE42 (3”) Rheonik Mass Flow Meter will be deployed for accurate determination of water addition to the electrolyte mix in membrane free systems used to generate the Green Hydrogen. It involves separating hydrogen and oxygen gases using cryogenics later in the process rather than at the start.    Rheonik meters tick all the boxes when it comes to the extreme conditions associated with hydrogen production, distribution and dispensing, particularly pressures up to and over 1000 bar.   #rheonik #coriolismeters #massflowmeters #greenenergy #hydrogenproduction #greenhydrogen #cleantechnology

  • The mighty mass flow meter awaiting collection is destined for CNOOC International’s Buzzard Platform, one of the North Sea’s highest producing oil fields, yielding 80,000 BOEPD and providing safe and secure energy for the UK. Buzzard is located about 100 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen, UK and first produced oil in 2007. This RHM80 (6”) Rheonik Coriolis meter is of a sealless design in C22 Hastelloy and will be used on the Buzzard’s test separator to monitor flow rates above 6000kg/min; it is a replacement for a contaminated meter that could not be cleaned and had to be scrapped. ABLE’s Project’s team, with Richard Walsh front and centre, oversaw an upgrade of the electronics and organised a third-party calibration at the NEL using kerosene.        #rheonikmesstechnik #coriolismeters #massflowmeters #cnoocbuzzard #tuvnel
