About us

6 Group is a global search and talent intelligence firm focused on the identification, engagement and development of the world’s standout talent. Our Managing Director, James Beazley, founded the company 16 years ago following his role at Shell as Head of Experienced Resourcing for EMEAR. During his time there, he used all the major search and assessment firms but felt none of them could demonstrate a truly collaborative approach to deliver remarkable outcomes. This was his chief driver for creating 6 Group. He wanted to put forward a genuine alternative that lives and breathes two key principles; Go Beyond and Partnering. Today, we are one of the world’s most innovative firms operating across EMEAI, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Our experience stretches across nine fascinating sectors: • Oil & Gas • Power & Utilities • Engineering & Manufacturing • Infrastructure & Transportation • Financial Services • Digital & Scaleups • Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences • Retail & FMCG • Legal

  • 🌟 Embracing Shared Leadership: "Can you explain the concept of shared leadership and its implication for team dynamics?" 🌟 In this week's episode of the #WeeklyBeaz, James Beazley dives into a familiar topic to us here at 6 Group as an integral belief and embedded in the way we operate. James introduces a concept he developed, which we call Followership. In many organisations, leadership is tied to hierarchy. However, shared leadership flips the traditional script as it’s about recognising and leveraging the unique strengths of every team member, irrespective of their position. At 6 Group, this belief is part of our DNA. We’ve seen it drive innovation, foster diversity of thought, and push organisations to new heights. What do you think about shared leadership and the concept of Followership? • At 6 Group, we believe in giving back to the community. This festive season, a few of our team members spent an inspiring day volunteering at the Hope Centre in Partington, a vibrant community hub dedicated to supporting local residents in the Partington and Carrington area.   One of the Centre’s key projects is the Hope Pantry, a membership-based community pantry offering local residents in need access to essential items. Stocked with goods donated by local businesses, the pantry provides a vital lifeline, especially during challenging times.   Our day at the Hope Centre was filled with meaningful activities. In addition to donating some tinned goods, we rolled up our sleeves to help in a variety of ways:   We helped out with packaging some donations from local businesses to ensure essentials were ready for distribution, got behind the till, where we had fun and heartwarming interactions with members of the community and sorted and organised their ‘toy shop’.   It was a truly rewarding experience to interact with the local residents and contribute to making their holiday season brighter.   The Hope Centre continues to do incredible work, and we are proud to have played a small part in their mission. To learn more about how you can support them or get involved, visit their website here: www.https://https://lnkd.in/gUU_6eXr.   Here’s to spreading hope and kindness this holiday season!

  • 🌟 Are You Ready to Build a Fearless Organisation? 🌟 In this week’s special episode of the #WeeklyBeaz, James Beazley sat down once again with Garry Sanderson, 6 Group’s Director of Performance, to explore the next step in our series on collaborative performance, the concept featured in his new book ‘The Change Engineer’. This episode is all about being ‘Fearless’—not in the absence of fear, but by fostering environments where individuals feel safe, valued, and empowered to bring their best ideas forward without fear of judgment. 💡 Garry dives deep into concepts such as: 🔑 Psychological Safety—Drawing from the groundbreaking work of Amy Edmondson at Harvard Business School. 🎯 Leadership Challenges—How leaders can create high-performance environments where passive-aggressive language is replaced with trust and respect. 🚀 Discretionary Effort—What drives people to go beyond the minimum and fully engage. If you’re a leader or team member looking to create meaningful change and achieve new levels of performance, this episode is for you. 🎙️ 💬 We’d love to hear your thoughts! What does ‘Fearless’ mean to you in your organisation? • Over the last couple of months, 6 Group have been conducting a survey to gather valuable insights on the current economic, industry, political, and environmental landscapes, as well as personal and career trends. These insights will be gathered into a comprehensive market preview report for 2025, which will be published early in the new year. In the conversations we held within our network, there were specific topics outlined, ranging from workforce and hiring trends to economic expectations, ESG initiatives, and personal career projections. The participants had the opportunity to share their perspectives on these crucial topics and receive an exclusive early release of the final report in January. Our team is conducting the survey until the end of this month. • 🌟 New Episode of the #WeeklyBeaz Special Series – ‘The Change Engineer’ with Garry Sanderson This week, James Beazley and Garry Sanderson dive into the second step on the journey to achieving revolutionary collaborative performance—and it’s all about being FUNCTIONAL. 💡 Garry breaks down what it means to foster a functional work environment, touching on key points like: ✅ The importance of responsiveness—Collaboration thrives when ideas, knowledge, and communication flow seamlessly. ✅ Managing commitments—Overconfidence and overload can derail both individual productivity and team performance. ✅ Overcoming behavioural gravity—We’re often pulled into the immediate and reactive, but true success requires strategic focus and long-term thinking. As Garry notes, many leaders are so overwhelmed by daily demands that they "don’t even have time to be reactive." Sound familiar? We’re diving deep into how to shift this dynamic for healthier teams and enterprises. If you haven’t already, check out Garry's book on Amazon (here: https://bit.ly/4fxZWC7), or send us a message, and we’ll make sure you get a copy! 📖 In our earlier #WeeklyBeaz episode from Helsinki, where we explored this concept of cultural and behavioural gravity in more detail. • Breaking barriers in hiring diverse talent   When a multibillion-dollar manufacturing and technology company set out to increase female leadership to 40% by 2030, they knew traditional recruitment methods wouldn’t cut it.   In a sector where women represent just 25% of senior leaders, attracting diverse, high-calibre talent—especially those not actively job-seeking—was a major challenge.   That’s where 6 Group stepped in. Using our Capability Engine™, we delivered a data-driven, precision approach to talent pipelining, uncovering hidden gems and creating a sustainable flow of candidates who bring fresh perspectives and align with the client’s values.   Curious how we helped this organisation achieve its diversity goals? 🌐 Read the full case study here https://lnkd.in/e-DzYiq9   #DiversityInLeadership #TalentPipelining #6Group #The6Way #CapabilityEngine
