This morning, the Environment Agency released its updated National Assessment of flood and coastal erosion risk for England. The recent changes in the total number of properties at risk of surface water flooding are primarily attributed to advancements in data, modelling, and technology rather than an actual increase in risk. The synergy between modelling, technology, and data is crucial for effective risk assessment and management. The Environment Agency is dedicated to an ongoing program of enhancing data quality, enabling them to leverage the latest local modelling insights and national data enhancements. Collaborating closely with the Environment Agency, 1Spatial is actively involved in supporting their data enhancement endeavours.
