🚀 Detecting UXOs Using Magnetic Anomaly Analysis Rapid and precise UXO detection is crucial to accelerating the return of territories to safe use. Mines are often well-hidden, camouflaged, or buried underground, making them challenging to detect. Modern underground mine detection technologies include various methods: visual inspection, metal detectors, ground-penetrating radar, multi- and hyperspectral cameras, and magnetometric systems. To ensure efficient UXO clearance, it’s essential to leverage all possible methods and technologies. UADAMAGE’s approach to mined area assessment is SENSOR FUSION, which combines data from multiple sensors simultaneously. This approach enhances the localization of detected objects by cross-checking anomalies identified across different spectrums and sensors. In UADAMAGE’s system, the magnetometer plays a critical role by enabling the detection of objects at varying depths underground. 🔍 How It Works The UADAMAGE team has adapted several types of magnetometers for operation with drone models that can perform low-altitude missions and navigate around obstacles to collect data (DJI Matrice, Lorry) as well as with autonomous ground-based platforms. The magnetometer system includes multiple embedded magnetic sensors spaced apart. These sensors measure changes in the magnetic field, isolating Earth’s constant magnetic field and aexcluding interference from the drone itself. This setup allows for the detection of localized anomalies associated with metallic objects beneath the surface. Data from the sensor is transmitted to an onboard computer, where it is processed by the UADAMAGE AI network. After processing, a data layer with magnetic anomalies and detected objects is generated and displayed as interactive map on UADAMAGE’s GIS platform. Using our SENSOR FUSION system, we can analyze up to 1 hectare of land per hour, significantly speeding up the demining process while ensuring accuracy and quick identification of objects both above and below ground. This automation optimizes the preparation process for field clearance, drastically reducing the need for physical checks, improving the planning of resources and equipment for demining, and significantly lowering risks for demining teams operating in hazardous areas. Our field analysis system powered by sensor fusion technology has undergone successful testing in real conditions and mined fields in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions. The UADAMAGE team is continuously testing new sensors to expand the system’s capabilities and enhance UXO detection accuracy. We are actively evaluating cutting-edge technologies while optimizing costs to make our solutions more accessible for demining teams worldwide. 🔗 Learn more about our technologies and stay updated here: https://buff.ly/3Csec0Q .
