#FightForLight: Ukrainian Veterans Stand Behind Oleksandr Usyk in His Rematch Against Fury On December 21, the world of professional boxing will witness a landmark event — the highly anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Together with DTEK, Usyk has launched the “Fight For Light” campaign to highlight the devastating impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and to call for international support in restoring and protecting critical energy facilities. Nearly 40 Ukrainian veterans have made their way to Saudi Arabia to cheer on the Ukrainian champion in his fight. Among them are DTEK energy workers and miners, Metinvest steelworkers, and defenders of Mariupol supported by Rinat Akhmetov’s “Heart of Azovstal” initiative. We stand with our undefeated champion, wishing him strength and victory in this pivotal battle. Light will always triumph over darkness! #StandWithUkraine #UsykFury #UsykFury2 #EnergyResilience

The “Heart of Azovstal” Initiative to Continue Supporting Mariupol Defenders and Their Families in 2025 The “Heart of Azovstal” project, launched to support Mariupol’s defenders and their families, will continue its work in 2025. The decision was announced by the initiative's founder, Rinat Akhmetov. "I have decided to extend the ‘Heart of Azovstal’ project into 2025 because over 1,500 Mariupol defenders are still in captivity. This is not just a number — it’s over 1,500 courageous individuals, Ukrainians, who are facing unimaginably difficult circumstances. They must know they are not alone. Their families, parents, children, and all of Ukraine are waiting for them to come home. It is our duty to fight for these men and women, to support them, and to help in every way we can. We owe them a great ‘thank you’ for their heroism — not just in words, but through action,” said Rinat Akhmetov. The “Heart of Azovstal” initiative was launched on January 16, 2023, with Rinat Akhmetov allocating ₴1 billion (approximately $27 million) for 2023 and 2024. Over this period, more than 6,000 defenders and their families have received direct support. With this new decision, the initiative has secured additional funding for 2025 and will continue its mission of providing vital assistance to Mariupol’s defenders for another 12 months. The project team, in collaboration with the defenders, will determine and present the support priorities and budget for 2025 in February, alongside a detailed report on the results achieved over the previous two years. #RinatAkhmetov #HeartOfAzovstal #StandWithUkraine #Mariupol #FreeMariupolDefenders

russia has carried out its ninth massive attack this year on DTEK’s thermal power plants, significantly damaging equipment critical for the stable functioning of Ukraine’s energy system. The goal of these attacks is clear: to leave millions of Ukrainians without light and heat during the harsh winter months. Preventing this devastating plan from becoming a reality depends on the unwavering support of our international partners. Advanced air defense systems and international assistance in repairing damaged equipment are crucial to ensuring Ukraine’s resilience against these assaults and ultimately winning the #FightForLight. #StandWithUkraine #Ukraine #DTEK #russiaIsaTerroristState

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko stated, “As Ukrainians wake to the coldest day of the winter so far, the enemy tries to break our spirit with this cynical terrorist attack. They will fail however.
