While it may seem obvious, maintaining optimal climate conditions is crucial for the efficient operation of collocated equipment. We strive to maximize the effectiveness of our cooling systems by employing specialized coverings over the cold corridor between rack rows. This design helps maintain a consistent flow of cold air within the corridor, minimizing temperature fluctuations. Additionally, because the covering is transparent, it allows light to illuminate the area without requiring additional lighting for work tasks. Do you have any innovative ideas to enhance efficiency in your colocation facility?

DTEL-IX IXP, the independent project of Digital Telecom IX LLC, focused on providing flexible peering services for international IP carriers, including Ukrainian ones. DTEL-IX is an open Internet exchange point with a clear peering policy. Thus, there are no unusual joining requirements. We have two independent but interconnected fault-tolerant topology platforms in Kyiv, Ukraine — NewTelco Ukraine on 50 Simi Prakhovykh (formerly Gaydara St.) and BE MOBILE Data Center on 21 Kurenivska St. We offer Ethernet connections with 10G, 40G, and 100G ports. Currently, we’re serving over 250 members. Our daily average load is over 2 Tbps and grows more than 30% a year. The main services we offer are as follows: ✅ public peering via route servers (IPv4 and IPv6) ✅ private peering within a public virtual local area network (VLAN, direct BGP sessions between members) ✅ private peering within an isolated layer 2 VLAN, Q-in-Q (802.1q VLAN stacking) ✅ virtual POP in Kyiv in two data centers. Public Looking Glass is available on our web: https://dtel-ix.net/looking-glass. Besides the main services, we also offer per-unit colocation at the two busiest data centers in Kyiv (NewTelco Ukraine and BE MOBILE), a fiber optic lease between them, optical cross-connection services at BE MOBILE, and Metro meet-me-room L7. We would be glad to see you among our members!

It's great to see a manufacturer of a high-quality product willing to implement custom improvements based on customer feedback. The applied enhancements significantly reduced the installation time for the ODF, making the process much more convenient. What custom improvements would you consider requesting from your vendor?

Enhancing Usability in Your Colocation Space Even small improvements can significantly enhance the usability of your colocation space. For instance, color-coded markings on the ends of Ethernet patch cords used for console access to collocated equipment enable quick identification of the A-end and B-end without the need to physically touch the patches. This convenient feature streamlines the connection and reconnection process, making it more efficient. What innovative solutions do you implement to enhance your colocation space?

Efficient Organization of Empty Racks in the Cross-Connection Room Maximizing the use of empty racks in the cross-connection room is essential. Each type of patch cord has a designated box, which not only helps maintain order but also significantly accelerates the cross-connection installation process. With everything readily accessible, linear engineers have all the tools they need at their fingertips. What types of organizers do you use for your patch cords?

How to Power Up a Remote PoP During Blackouts When a Diesel Generator Isn’t an Option Challenging times call for innovative solutions. To charge the UPS batteries in our metro-meet-me-room L7 during blackouts, we’ve repurposed an electric vehicle to deliver electricity from the nearest data center. Our Renault Kangoo has transformed into a “powerbank on wheels.” Visit our website to read the full story behind this transformation: https://lnkd.in/eddWUMrB

If you want something done right, do it yourself. That was our mindset when creating this custom cable organizer. With a bit of engineering know-how, some mounting experience, and the expertise of a skilled metalworker, we brought our vision to life. While it may not be the most visually striking design, it offers great convenience and satisfies our inner perfectionists. More details about this cable organizer you may find here: https://lnkd.in/e3Z5sBpB And what DIY things do you use in your work?

Of course, it is much easier to install equipment in a brand-new rack with new precabling, like this installation of our core. But still, it requires thorough planning, many working hours, and a lot of patience. How many cups of coffee do you think our engineers had to drink to make such a neat installation?

But the job needs to be done anyway. Thorough planning, high-quality materials, many working hours of our engineers, and incredible transformation happened. If they were Marvel or DC characters, how would you call our engineers who made this "before and after"? We call them Reverse Spidermen or the Unknitters.
