The Green Economy
Non-profit Organizations
Our pro-conservation approach is pivotal in reshaping economic investments to balance ecological and economic gains.
About us
The Green Economy(TGE) transforms economic systems into systems that prioritize conservation by enhancing participatory community conservation models. We believe participatory community-led conservation models carry long-lasting solutions to food insecurity, environmental degradation, and climate change both at the local and global scale.

Mazingira yakiathirika maisha hapa duniani hayatakua endelevu. --- We wish all businessmen, women and Tanzanians in general the best of luck in the celebration of #SabaSaba (#International #Trade #Fair 2024. TGE is increasingly reminding you all that our #economicsystems grows #sustainably only where #production methods we choose do not leave significant #impacts on the #environment. #SDGs #Sustainability #Economicdevelopment #Environment #Nature

When the The Nature Conservancy Northern Tanzania Program started engaging pastoralist through pasture demo plots in 2022 (where TGE served as a mere consultant) about assisted fast natural regeneration (#AFNR), it wasn't easy for #pastoralist to comprehend the fact that #bareground areas in communal rangelands can be fast-restored. It was a new conception among pastoralist that native perennial grass seeds can be broadcasted in bare land areas and grow to produce huge biomass for #livestock and #wildlife. They used to believe grass just grow naturally and never imagined that seed banks can also get exhausted by repeated #unreliable and #insufficient #ranfall leading to prolonged drought caused by #climatechangeimpact. Video below is self explanatory.

Empowering #pastoralist to develop coping strategies and improve #resilience to #climatechange impact such as prolonged #drought. Below in pictures is one of the pasture plot used to demonstrate to local communities how possible it is to implement assisted fast natural #regeneration of #degraded #rangelands and boost supply of sufficient fodder to livestock and wildlife while rejuvenating the #carbon sink. We are determined to a revegetation campaign. www.greenkilimo.org

This #rainyseason present an opportunity to #plantmoretrees 🌴and meet our target 🎯 contribution into the #globalgoals. #oxygen isn't free as most of us perceive, it is being produced using resources we have long been over exploiting or destroying without our knowledge, it is therefore everyone responsibility to plant trees 🎄 and or #revegetate our planet. More #vegetation cover means more oxygen generators and more carbon absorbers and storage and thus attainment of #netzero.
