Yesterday I was honoured to be the Keynote Speaker at the 4th International Conference on Electrical, Computer, Communications and Mechatronics Engineering (ICECCME 2024) which is taking place at the The Maldives National University, Male, Maldives between 04th to 6th November 2024. During my keynote presentation I delivered a topic titled, “The Synergy of AI & Mechatronics: Revolutionizing System Control & Automation” & discussed on the following key areas: #Understanding on how the infusion of AI technologies, particularly deep learning and optimization techniques, is significantly improving the design, reliability, and maintenance of mechatronic systems. #Understanding the synergy between Mechatronics and AI, delving into the successful integration of AI techniques in mechatronic applications, emphasizing advancements in design, reliability, and maintenance through the lens of deep learning and optimization methodologies. #Understanding key areas such as autonomous systems, sensor integration, intelligent control, fault detection, reliability, maintenance, and real-time decision-making. #Lastly I provided an overview of the mechatronics & automation industry in the context of AI application, highlighting potential benefits & challenges of integrating AI into mechatronics systems for researchers & academics. I was honoured to be among the 15 selected Regional Experts from diverse backgrounds to join the Regional Consultation on AI and Sustainability Alliances in Africa, that took place on September 17th 2024, at the ICRAF Campus & Headquarters, Nairobi. The discussion aimed to explore needs and opportunities for forming new alliances focused on AI & sustainability in Africa, notably to ensure open and transparent access to data and knowledge.
