When Calls the Heart Sets Season 12 Premiere Date — New Trailer Introduces Melissa Gilbert’s Character

When Calls the Heart will return for Season 12 just after the new year, Hallmark Channel announced Saturday in a promo that aired during the Christmas movie Santa Tell Me, which stars When Calls the Heart‘s Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing.
The series’ Season 12 premiere will air on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 9/8c. You can watch a teaser trailer below.
As you saw in the video above, Season 12 will bring the addition of Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, whose casting was announced in September. She’ll guest-star as Georgie McGill, “who shares a surprising past with one special Hope Valley resident,” according to the network, and will appear in two episodes.
Season 12 will consist of 12 episodes which, per the network, will “continue with themes about family, community, and of course romance as we move further into the 1920s.”
“When Calls the Heart continues to exceed our expectations and the number of fans and viewers continue to grow every year,” Hallmark programming EVP Lisa Hamilton Daly said in a statement after the renewal was announced. “Bringing Season 12 to life is a huge milestone and is a true testament to the cast and crew’s hard work and dedication throughout the last decade. We cannot wait for Hope Valley’s next chapter full of exciting characters and storytelling!”

This was a nice commercial surprise as I was watching the movie. I never expected WCTH to come back in January. However, that means The Way Home will premiere later and I was looking forward to seeing Jacob walking into his house; sigh. I wonder what’s going on with the production schedule.
I would like to know about the change as well. If for whatever reason, they decided to swap premiere dates and only have one week without a new show ( superbowl week), at best I guess the way home would return in April.
I just love this show so much but not the last season as much.

Wonderful show, I look forward to Jan. 5th to see again “When Calls the Heart.” I have watched it, for so many years.
It’s going to be a quick turn around for post production considering they just wrapped filming this week…. Definitely gonna be an emotional support show in the early days of 2025….
Bad part is that if it gets a lucky season 13 the hiatus will be killer

It’s taking too long for Season 12 to begin. I have lost interest in WCTH. I have been watching WHC. I watch the 2 seasons repeatedly. The story lines are intriguing and very educational. Great for school age children to learn about the 20th century live style.
I looking forward to there Season 3.
WCTH characters story lines are not realistic.
The truth is Hallmark FB /IG accounts get turned into a toxic mess when this show airs. It’s well known issue that Hallmark and the people involved with the show created themselves. The show had its lowest ratings last year. They probably don’t want to air it in July again and or this might be the last season. Also if they are going to cancel the show they don’t want to keep the actors on contract till Aug / July.
Can’t wait for the return of this series! Love this show!
My roommate and I find the show very intriguing and we look forward to it every week. We were sorry to see Jack go, especially before his son was born. We enjoyed Abigail. She was a little pushy at times, but it was good. We also like Rosemary where she takes everything over. We hope that Elizabeth will have a better love interest with Nathan. We are very happy that it is gonna have another season.
So looking forward to the return new season

It’s a shame that when one has watched it for many seasons on CBC, now the only way to see it is with a subscription to Hallmark.

I love ‘When Calls the Heart’ and all its characters and story lines. I look forward to the start of Season 12. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but ‘When Calls the Heart’ is a show I don’t miss.
