Linux System Administration Essentials (LFS207)

Linux is the #1 operating system for web servers, cloud computing, smart phones and consumer electronics. Due to its high adoption rates and continued growth, there’s a shortage of Linux system administrators. This Linux System Administration Essentials course will teach you the skills and processes you need to work as a professional Linux systems administrator.

Who Is It For

The course is ideal for those new to IT, or those who have worked with operating systems other than Linux and want to move into a career administering Linux systems. Aspiring cloud professionals will also benefit from understanding Linux administration as it serves as the basis of most cloud instances.

The real world scenarios for the exercise files were really helpful. I use three different VMs for the courses; Debian, Fedora, and openSuse. This helps me to build muscle memory and to see the differences.

It provided a wide range of information essential for Linux System Administration, and has increased my knowledge of Linux to better assist in my career.
Mar 2024
It was made by senior Linux users and admins. By people who have a very long experience with Linux, by people who have some serious skills.
Mar 2024
This course provides a very good explanation, and is easy to understand.

The focus is 100% on Linux, and learning stuff. One really nice point is that it's designed for all Linux distros, and not just a specific vendor.
Feb 2024
Well structured course, and the labs are excellent.

I liked how short each screen on content was in the modules. I come from a Cisco background, where each webpage can be quite long, and the training modules can take a long time to complete, so it's easy to get lost. This course was nice because the content was not long-winded, and progressing through each module gave me a feeling of progression.

The broadness of the course (the fact that it managed to touch many of the core aspects of Linux administration), and the fact that it's as "vendor-neutral" as possible (applicable for any Linux distribution, not just for a specific distro family). This course managed to be broad enough to give me an idea of how to manage the majority of relatively modern distributions out there, without getting lost in the specifics of each distribution family. Also, there are always some options in commands that I commonly use, that previously went unnoticed for me. This course managed to highlight some of those too.
Sep 2023
Everything was very clear, and the labs were very useful to fully understand some topics.
Aug 2023
The course taught me some practical things that I can use for my Linux system.
Jul 2023
The magnitude of the course was on point, and I personally think anyone new to Linux would have no issue following through. All that is needed is patience and practice.
Jun 2023
I liked the course as a whole. It made me dig deeper into Linux, and to comprehend how the system works.
May 2023
The video and images really help with understanding what commands do in real time, with examples.
