Here is Turkey's first approved & published IBQML global case study in a collaboration with Google & SEM & LCW 👑 By analyzing GA4 and Adjust data for the past years 2021 to 2023, we developed a Ramadan specific model with Vertex AI (via IBQML) to predict users who would make a purchase during Ramadan and targeted these segments across six different campaigns on Google Ads in a full-funnel strategy. The results are impressive: We increased conversion rates by 53% compared to non-Ramadan predicted audiences in overall and achieved (on Google Ads campaigns) an average 84% conversion increase with 20% lower CPA. The SRSLTID parameter was created to improve the analytics of Google Merchant Center campaign performance. For user convenience, this tag is automatically added to URLs (you can disable it in the Google Merchant Center settings). Google's original idea was solid, but something went wrong. 🤔 In August 2024, while SEO specialists were busy analyzing the new Google Core Update, the sharp-eyed among them noticed URLs like https://lnkd.in/dei-CqcJ starting to appear in the index. This raised concerns, and almost immediately John Mueller reassured the community: "This doesn't affect crawling, indexing, or ranking - it's basically just for analytics for merchants" Yeah, sure🤦‍♂️ It didn’t take long for these URLs to show up in Google Search Console reports and other analytics tools. 🚨 Google's official response: "There's an ongoing issue with ranking in Google Search that's affecting a large number of search results. We've identified the root cause. This issue is unrelated to the ongoing core update rollout announced yesterday. We're working on a fix". What to do? Our action plan for clients: • Disable the automatic addition of the SRSLTID parameter in Google Merchant Center, if possible. • Block the ?srsltid=* parameter in the robots.txt file. • Add the rel="canonical" tag to pages with the ?srsltid=* parameter, pointing to the main URL. • Implement the directive <​meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> for these URLs.
