Senior Project Manager/Senior Engineer
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Job Summary
This position is in the Transportation Department and will report to the Ohio Roadway Team Leader.
Interactions will be with other senior staff, all departments, and with members of Fishbeck’s Toledo office.
Opportunities for internal growth and ownership in the firm is anticipated in this role.
The Transportation Department is the largest department at Fishbeck with over 85 employees, operations in three States, and annual sales of $24 million.
Technical Functions
Manage and lead LPA transportation projects.
Provide Quality Control (QC) and constructability reviews on Ohio roadway project submittals.
Provide mentorship and guidance to road engineers during plan development.
Assist and/or lead proposal preparation and fee setting.
Assist and/or lead miscellaneous grant programs for LPA.
Coordinate with other Project Managers and Team Leaders to manage workload, prioritize projects, and staff training.
Recruitment of talent, within the limits of prior agreements.
Potential future Team Leader role, if desired.
Assist with department operations including workload management, hiring needs, project variances, and profitability.
Participate with Fishbeck internal technical committees.
Business Development Functions
Create a business development plan to pursue transportation work with LPAs.
Maintain and nurture existing relationships with local clients in the area.
Target and develop new clients.
Develop relationships with other consultants and teaming partners.
Provide input and make teaming arrangements with design consultants for pursuits.
Work with our Ohio Transportation Marketing Team to provide GO/NO GO decisions, lead and/or assist with the preparation of pursuits, and coordinate with other consultants on the project team.
Cross-marketing with other departments and staff involved with business development.
Contribute and assist with tasks associated with Fishbeck’s vision for the next 10 years.
Attend and represent Fishbeck in professional organizations’ meetings and events (American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), ODOT/ACEC Partnering Conference, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Conference, golf outings, etc.
) to develop and maintain Fishbeck client relationships.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking.
Will perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer.
Capable of traveling to and from projects is required.
Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
