Job Summary:
The One-to-One Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing personalized educational support to students with special needs, ensuring that they receive an individualized and inclusive learning experience.
This role involves working closely with students, parents, and other members of the educational team to create and implement tailored instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions to meet the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Instruction:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Provide one-to-one instruction based on the student's learning style, abilities, and goals.
Assessment and Monitoring:
Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and progress.
Monitor and adjust instructional strategies based on student performance and feedback.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with parents and caregivers to share progress, discuss concerns, and gather input for the development of effective teaching strategies.
Adaptation of Materials:
Modify and adapt instructional materials to meet the individual needs of each student.
Utilize assistive technologies and other resources to enhance the learning experience.
Behavioral Support:
Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to address behavioral challenges.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional development.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including assessment results, anecdotal notes, and other relevant data.
Prepare and submit required reports, such as progress reports and IEP documentation.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about best practices in special education and pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with colleagues and attend relevant workshops or training sessions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Valid teaching certification in special education.
* Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
* Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
