Job Description:
The Northeast School Corporation is seeking applicants for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The successful candidate will begin duties on July 1, 2024 allowing for a transition period with retiring Superintendent Dr.
Mark Baker after 17 years at the helm.
Our Board of Education will be working with The University Search Team consisting of educational leadership professors from Ball State, Indiana State, Indiana University, and Purdue University.
The services of the University Search Team are provided without cost by our four major state universities.

The Superintendent shall be the chief administrative officer for the corporation.
They are responsible for the effective operation of the district; for the general administration of all instructional, business, or other operations of the district; and for advising and making recommendations to the Northeast School Corporation Board of Trustees with respect to such activities.
They shall perform all of the duties and accept all of the responsibilities required of a superintendent as prescribed by the Indiana Department of Education and the policies established by the Northeast School Corporation Board of Trustees.

The Northeast School Corporation is located in Sullivan County.
The district is approximately 15 minutes form Terre Haute and 30 minutes from Vincennes.
NESC is in partnership with Indiana State University, Ivy Tech and Vincennes University.
The Northeast School Corporation consists of three school buildings and one administration/STEM building.
They are located in the northeast corner of Sullivan County: Northeast North Elementary (K-6), Northeast East Elementary (PK-6), North Central Jr/Sr High School (7-12) and the Administration Office with the Wonder Lab (K-12 STEM Lab).
The Northeast School Corporation Board of Trustees is a five-member board with members elected and representing each of our five townships.
All board meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM.

Application Process:
Applications will be accepted from March 11, 2024 to April 12, 2024.
All applications must meet the State of Indiana requirements to be a Superintendent of Schools.

Interview Schedule:
The Board of Education plans to begin the interview process the week of April 22, 2024.
The Board of Education plans to conduct the contract hearing by May 20, 2024.
