Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus has a role for a Part Time Library Assistant.
This person will assist students and perform basic library functions as outlined in the job description.
Some Saturday hours will be required.
Basic Roles & Responsibilities
Opening and/or closing the Library
Answering Library patron questions about services, on campus, online, or by telephone
Performing basic Circulation desk duties, such as checking materials in or out
Reserving study rooms
Assisting patrons with the printing process
Assisting patrons with the Library Login Kiosk
Shelving or re-shelving Library materials using Library of Congress or Dewey indexing
Assisting with semi-annual Library inventory
Participating in or supporting Library events
Participating in ongoing Library skills training
Referring students to other services on campus, such as tutoring, advising, or testing
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication abilities are necessary for the position
Professional interaction skills needed with faculty, staff, students, and community members
Basic technology skills with willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to work independently as well as on a team
Some Saturday hours required
$15/hour
Associates Degree preferred
