Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is seeking Adjunct Instructors to teach day or evening classes in the areas of Mechatronics Mechanical Systems and Mechatronics Pressurized Systems.
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

To teach ADMF 112 – Mechatronics Mechanical Systems:
Knowledge of:
mechatronics systems (FESTO)
troubleshooting a mechatronics system
interpreting technical documentation – data sheets and circuit diagrams
mechanical concepts/systems
electrical drives (AC and DC)
hazards of electromechanical equipment and safe working practices
To teach ADMF 222 – Mechatronics Pressurized Systems:
Knowledge of:
mechatronics systems (FESTO)
electro pneumatic and hydraulic concepts
electro pneumatic and hydraulic components and control systems
troubleshooting a mechatronics system revolving around electro pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
interpreting technical documentation – data sheets and circuit diagrams
hazards of electro pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and safe working practices
To teach Electrical knowledge of:
electrical laws and principles pertaining to DC and AC circuits
Ohms Law
how to determine/measure resistance, voltage, current, inductance and capacitance
transformer applications
National Electrical Code and its application in designing and installing electrical circuits
wiring materials and devices
wiring methods
electrical safety and terminology
interpreting technical documentation – data sheets, industrial blueprints, circuit diagrams
fundamentals of single phase and three-phase alternating current
analysis of different types of circuits
common types of electric motors
motor theory
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.
