HFCL partners VVDN, i2e1 for providing PM Wani WiFi services in Haryana village
HFCL along with VVDN’s wireless teams have created a robust high-speed WiFI network with i2e1’s core for providing internet services in the area for the use and benefit of the locals, an official statement said.
NEW DELHI: Homegrown WiFi brand IO by HFCL Limited on Monday said it has partnered with VVDN Technologies and Delhi-based core solution provider i2e1 to provide public WiFi services under the PM-Wani initiative in Baslambi village of Haryana.
The model village leverages HFCL IO’s PM-Wani compliant WiFi Access Points integrated with core solutions by i2e1, an IIT-Delhi-based startup.
HFCL along with VVDN’s wireless teams have created a robust high-speed WiFI network with i2e1’s core for providing internet services in the area for the use and benefit of the locals, an official statement said.
Locals can now login to PM Wani hotspots using an OTP and access high-speed wireless broadband services affordably.
“This model village is another step we have taken towards realizing our Government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat showcasing our capability in designing, developing and manufacturing high technology products in India. This is also a platform demonstrating our faith in the PM-WANI scheme as a major driver in providing broadband connectivity to the unconnected. We are committed to our honorable Prime Minister’s vision of making India an Innovation Hub,” said Jitendra Chaudhary, Executive President, HFCL.
“Keeping in line with the vision of the PM-WANI scheme, this initiative aims to elevate wireless internet connectivity in the region thereby boosting “ease of living”. The initiative aims to make the residents of Baslambi truly Atmanirbhar in their internet needs with seamless connectivity. This is another step towards realizing PM Modi’s Digital India mission,” said Bhupender Saharan, CEO and founder of VVDN.
“We are excited to partner with HFCL, one of the unique Make in India OEMs that are focused not only on cost competitiveness but also offering industry-leading performance, reliability and features at par or better than any global brand,” said Satyam Darmora, Founder, i2e1.
I2e1 in January this year launched the first start Public Data Office (PDO) which will allow any retailer to become a PDO for Rs 250 per month under the PM-Wani initiative.
According to the company, the PDO which has been established in South Delhi's Kusumpur Pahadi area, will allow the area residents to access 50Mbps high-speed and unlimited internet at Rs 5 per day with no registration.
