White Breath 03:20
Spring is born from Winter’s queen I see the witches change from greys to green, yeah We got the sun, we got the Sundays The exiles from the South return They’re singing stories from another world, yeah We got the sun, we got the Sundays The angels are awakening And they are hungry for the mortal things, yeah We got the sun, we got the Sundays The death and resurrection rites Require savagery and sacrifice, yeah We got the sun, we got the Sundays Whiteness of the breath Walk away from here Old way home Takes too long Cold walk home Move too slow Whiteness of the breath Air instead of death

Green Horn 02:26
So I believe what I can see I don't care for much else Except the things that pull the strings Can make me doubt myself Invisibly yet plain to see They call me to inspire I don't reject but come correct I'm looking at the fire The ladies and the gentlemen Seem older and more wise While I still feel like seventeen It's clear I'm left behind Take all you want, I'm undefiant I'm fine with what is mine Take all you will, I'll linger still I'll have what's left behind
3.
April pt. 1 03:44
Spring is here again, we are glad to be content Winter's at an end, there's time to spend for days on end Waking from a slumber I was under like a spell Underneath the mountain I was counting down the days Starved for conversation, hibernation's been too long Went there down a well but how I came back I can't tell Never ending haze, like a filter on my days Cold has come and snow has come this late I've returned and now the weather's changed
4.
Tremolyre 03:49
Tremolyre was what I called my wired six string Sing the songs I wrote when we were young darling With you I feel like I am in a dream talking In too deep I'm getting into sleepwalking Breathe out Breathe in Breathe out again, oh yeah The waking world pulls us back I must return to the land A spool was dropped in a well Still under your spell Breathe out again, oh yeah Breathe out Breathe in Breathe out again, oh yeah
5.
Springtime Birdsong calls the green Meanwhile Blossom in the trees Springtime Aching to appear True power Slowly is revealed
6.
Insight 03:17
You wanna know what it feels like Shut the fuck up, this is real life You wanna know what I hide Confide in me You show me yours and of course I’ll show you my inside And if you feel so inclined you can leave If you feel so inclined You can stay for a while Roll over to your side Fall asleep Take your time to digest How a careless caress Took the load off your chest Wiped you clean You do not know how it can be Bitter when first it was candy You wanna know if there’s more glitter than gold You show me yours and I’m sure I’ll activate plan B Do you think would you mind We could swim side by side We can dive into the cold green river Leave our clothes at the shore Have our bare skin endure Just a touch if we shiver Touch some more If you feel so inclined You can stay for a while you can leave at your own chosen speed
7.
Pulled out of the air into being Drawn together from threads and strings Taking shape as we go along Build to make it strong Sines will oscillate when we sing Sound can travel through anything The air is full of waves like the sea Don't remember me
8.
April pt. 2 03:15
I've sure been here before In dreams or real Complete and out of hope I cannot leave Won't do this anymore Out of ideas Belief, a fragile sport Thought I was free
9.
Blue Jeans 02:15
Just within reach Spinning at full speed I feel the heat as we touch Satellites fell Out of the blue sky I’ll pack the heat don’t you Tell at the hotel Switch from your blue jeans to your gown At the hotel Watching the sky burn Take from my heart what you need No use to run This kind of love is the bomb
10.
Let me turn back Cause I have wandered from the path I won't look back What's past is done, I'm done with that A cloud of wings If you lie still won't hurt a bit We're made to sing Perform the savage rites of spring
11.
Around the bend These scars are all that I have left So I can pretend Not even close by any stand I comprehend The situation I am in This time I'm here No reason to be somewhere else

about

Spring Rites is the seventh studio album by Belgian shoegazers Tannhauser Orchestra. The follow-up to 2021’s lauded The Fade, Spring Rites is an even more turbulent and savage work. Described by the band as ‘dream punk’, breakneck song tempos and aggressive guitar sounds are again juxtaposed with hushed vocal harmonies and cavernous synths.

In preparation for the album, the band made use of an array of metal amps to sculpt a sonorous yet highly defined tone.

Bandcamp wrote "Bright, gorgeous, bashing songs from these Belgian shoegazers that never lose track of melody amidst the waves of distortion." (New and Notable section)
