Aerospace Process Support 2, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Assistant - 1st Shift: Hytek Finishes offers an exciting work opportunity in support of aerospace parts! As an Assistant, you will learn NDT processing to ensure that critical parts on the aircraft are flight worthy.
We have an onsite NDT Level III inspector who will be training you, along with an NDT lead towards achieving on-the-job training and hours that will count towards achievement of a Level I Inspection certification in house and ultimately, can partner with you to create a training plan to eventually become a Level II NDT Inspector if desired! Job Overview: Title: :Process Support 2, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Assistant Reports to: Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA Type: :Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule:: 1st Shift; Training for 90 days, Monday - Friday, 6AM to 2:30PM Hytek production is open 24 hours per day.

) Job Summary: Employees in this position will learn how to perform tasks in support of the Level 1 and Level II Non-Destructive Testing Inspector(s) including loading, running, and unloading the ovens for stress bakes and vapor degreasing.
To succeed in this role, the NDT Assistant will maintain and organize a daily schedule of process bake times and communicate appropriately to variable departments including, but not limited to, NDT and Plating.
NDT Assistants perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.
Responsibilities : - Work closely with experienced Level I and II NDT Inspectors to complete work and prioritize tasks.
- Learn to follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced NDT Inspectors.
- Learn general review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed.
Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
- Learn to prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
- Learn to perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Learn to follow Quality Assurance requirements.
- Must follow safety precautions as trained.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.
S.
An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
Education/Previous Experience Requirements: - 1-2 years in an aerospace production and/or similar manufacturing environment a plus.

Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions.
Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, and gloves (provided by Company).
Salary Range for position:: $15.

*Hourly rate is dependent upon former NDT experience, and any prior on-the-job training hours towards a level I or level II cert.
