Job Description 1 Located in Kent Washington, Protective Coatings Inc.
is a leading provider of full service finishing for the aerospace, electronics and medical industries in both commercial and defense applications.
Services include but are not limited to non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection and a wide variety of surface enhancement processes such as shot peening and abrasive blasting, passivation, cadmium and nickel zinc plating, chromic, sulfuric and boric sulfuric acid anodizing and the application of chromate conversion coating on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
Organic coating includes the application and testing of multiple resin systems such as epoxies, phenolics, polyurethanes, polyesters, elastomerics, intumescents, lacquers, alkyds, acrylics, dry-film lubricants, powder coatings and Teflon.
Current approvals include the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, (NADCAP), Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company, Boeing Defense and Space, Boeing/Philadelphia, Boeing Long Beach, Grumman, Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin, Goodrich, Bombardier, Cessna and Sikorsky among much else.

Position Summary: The Level 1 Paint Masker will perform masking activities in accordance with the following defined requirements.
Selected candidates for this position will be expected to perform simple masking of required part features with appropriate masking materials (such as tapes, paper and plugs) to protect the areas from processing, mainly from painting applications.
Insuring and validating part cleanliness, damage free surfaces, and part configurations are some of the essential functions a Level 1 Paint Masker will be required to perform.
Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations.
Level 1 Paint Maskers will also be performing verifications ensuring that all traces of organic soils, fingerprints, dirt, and dust are removed by using solvent cleaners.
Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills.
Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner.
As a condition of assignment, Level 1 Paint Masker candidates may be expected to process product controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company’s commitment to quality & safety.
Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Wear and maintain proper personal equipment (PPE).
Cut or tear paper, tape, vinyl plugs to specified size as required per job specification.
Use precut masking materials and stencils for proper masking of part surfaces prior to finishes applied.
Proper use of masking tools such as razor blades, wire cutters, insertion tools, pliers, etc.
Read the work order instructions from traveler or other job related documents and process the jobs exactly as instructed.
Physically working with hands to accurately mask certain surfaces of parts to protect from the finish process applied utilizing tapes or other masking materials.
Working with and around solvent cleaners and paint materials such as acetone, alcohol, MEK, paints, etc.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all the times.
Work independently or as a team member as required by job.
Working in fast paced environment to meet Production and Quality goals.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20 to $20 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.
For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter.
