Print Apprentice

*Bindery Operator Floater* Full Time Tacoma, WA, US *Classification:* Hourly, Non-Exempt *Hours: *Monday – Friday, 6AM-2:30PM, Occasional OT or nights The Bindery Operator Floater operates multiple bindery and finishing machines such as stitchers, cutters, folder, gluer, die cutting machines, and other finishing/binding equipment.
This person will also work with the sign shop and install team to help install signs, banners, window and wall graphics, and vehicle graphics, as necessary.

* Ensure that assembly practices comply with established policies and procedures.
* Troubleshoot problems and report findings to appropriate program manager and departmental managerial team.
* Perform typical Bindery operations to support the assembly floor.
* Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
* Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
* Comfortable with frequent use of power tools, drills, climbing ladders, cutters drills and wretches.
* Occasional use and operation of scissor lift, boom lift, augers and trailers * Work closely with other employees and departments in planning efficient and quality installs, both onsite and offsite, and completion of projects.
* Act as install lead for all window, wall and vehicle graphics to ensure professional and timely installs * Work directly with clients to ensure mutual satisfaction of installs and products * Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.
* Work overtime as needed.
* Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.
*QUALIFICATIONS* · Previous manufacturing/print production experience preferred, but not required · Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills · High attention to detail with strong quality assurance standard · Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities · Continuing design for personal growth and development of leadership and managerial abilities · Highly organized · Knowledge and comfortable with hand and power tools · Excellent customer service skills, both with internal and external customers · Valid drivers license with good standing driving record · Ability to read maps/navigate · Career oriented and self motivated · Occasional overtime and weekend work · Ability to work well with a team or individual based on job needs · Professional appearance · Ability to pass background check *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
* This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
* Mix of both onsite and offsite setting, often exposed to outdoor elements.
* Comfortable with frequent use of power tools, drills, climbing ladders, cutters drills and wretches.
* Occasional use and operation of scissor lift, boom lift, augers and trailers * The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Some work is performed in a warehouse like setting, with exposure to noise that can be loud, moving parts and machines, and vibrations.
