AlphaBEST Education, a leading provider of after-school and summer programs, and FableVision, an award-winning, educational media, and storytelling company, co-developed of "Going Places" Summer Camp featuring the award-winning book by FableVision's founders and twin brothers Paul and Peter H.
Reynolds.
Going Places Summer offers engaging, immersive activities and challenges based on the book's themes, which illustrate the critical life skills known as the "4Cs" - communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
We can't fully achieve our mission of learning through wonder without staff who exemplify these same beliefs and are passionate about making an impact on our youth.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement Going Places curriculum to groups of 15 -30 campers
Teach the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers, and capturing feedback to share with curriculum developers
Effectively collaborate with the camp team to create a memorable experience for campers
Maintain safe environments for all campers and provide leadership and camp spirit to all
campers
Contribute to and participate in daily camp activities, including check-in and check-out,
opening/closing ceremonies and snack & lunch supervision and programming
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and our camp partners
Assist with daily setup and cleanup of camp as well as the setup and break down of camp at the beginning and end of the summer
Summer Instructors will report to the Camp Director and receive professional development and ongoing coaching
REQUIREMENTS
Genuine love and interest in working with children and/or education
Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy and exceptional enthusiasm each day
Flexibility to meet changing needs and demands while balancing multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work collaboratively on a team, with an openness to feedback and a desire to grow professionally
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
A great communicator with families and guardians
CPR/First Aid certified OR willing to become certified by start of camp
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by start of camp to ensure staff and campers are as safe and healthy as possible and to comply with enhanced health and safety protocols
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
College degree preferred but not required
Preferred experience with elementary students
Experience working with kids or in a camp setting a plus
LOCATION -Auburn WA- Site to be determined
HOURS
Camp is two weeks dates 7-8-24 through 7-12-24 and 8-19-24 through 8-23-24
Staff may work anytime between 6:30 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday.
Number of hours and start/finish time will vary by site, position and day
Staff meetings: During regular work hours before or after the start of programming
2-12 hours of online training before camp begins
Training and setup days: Participate in two mandatory training and setup days in the days before camp starts
Camp cleanup: Participate in cleaning and packing up camp for an additional 1-5 hours in your last week of camp, typically some additional hours at the end of the day.
The needs of camp and resulting staff hours may vary.

COMPENSATION AND PERKS
We are committed to competitively compensating staff.
Regarding compensation:
Staff are compensated at a regular hourly rate, with overtime at 1.
5x the hourly rate in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Exact hourly rate is based on location and is included in the offer letter.
Staff will be compensated at an hourly training rate for 2-12 hours of online training to be completed before camp, and for 2 days on-site setup/training
Summer staff positions are temporary, seasonal non-benefited positions and do not include paid vacation time.
