Issue

Unable to modify the default hardcoded text or label values that are used by application base locale in the Constellation UI. 

Example scenarios: 

• Changing Pulse to Messages
• Changing Assignments to Tasks
• Changing New to Create 
• Modifying the Successfully Submitted! message in the toast popup

Symptoms and Impact

User is unable to change terminology or text value as per their guidelines. The default text value remains unchanged.

Steps to reproduce

Attempt to change a default text value by saving a field value. 

Explanation

The reported behavior is as per the Constellation UX system configuration. The Constellation UX system configuration is different from the traditional UI. The text values or terminologies are editable in the traditional UI by leveraging rule resolution of field values. For example, in the traditional UI, a user would have saved the relevant field value in the Application rule set and would have updated the text to what is required. 

Pega believes that part of Constellation’s value proposition is consistency in experience across the application portfolio, so the application users know what to expect. For example, it is inconsistent if the Tasks widget is named Tasks in one application but Items in another application and may be My tasks in another application.
