Label, color, or pin notes

To sort and find your notes in Google Keep, you can label, color, and pin notes. If you’re sharing a note, only you’ll be able to see your labels, colors, and pins. You can have up to 50 labels.

Add a label

  1. On your computer, go to keep.google.com.
  2. Select the note you want to label. To select multiple notes, point to a note and click on the checkmark.
  3. Click More More.
  4. Click Add label or Change labels.
  5. Under "Label note":
    • Check the box next to each label you want to add.
    • To remove a label, uncheck the box next to a label.
    • To create a new label, enter a name and click Create Create .

You’ll see the label at the bottom of the note.

Delete or rename a label

  1. On your computer, go to keep.google.com.
  2. In the top left, click Menu Menu and then Edit labels.
  3. Point to the label you want to change.
    • To delete a label, click Delete label Deleteand then Delete.
    • To rename a label, click Rename label Edit, enter a new label name and click Done Done.

Change the color or background of your notes

  1. On your computer, go to keep.google.com.
  2. Hover over the note you want to edit. To select multiple notes, point to a note and click the checkmark.
  3. Click Change color Color. If you’ve selected multiple notes, you’ll see this in the top right.
  4. Select a color or background from the gallery.

Pin important notes

You can pin important notes to the top of your Google Keep feed to quickly access them.

  1. On your computer, go to keep.google.com.
  2. Point to the note you want to pin.
  3. Click Pin note Pin.
