Organize managed Android apps into collections

As an administrator, you can help your users find the work apps they need by grouping them into collections in the managed Google Play store. For example, you can create a collection called Essentials for frequently used apps. Or, create a collection called Expenses for apps related to tracking costs and travel.

You can create up to 30 collections.

Before you begin: approve apps in Managed Google Play

  1. Sign in to Managed Google Play (https://play.google.com/work) with your administrator account.
  2. Find apps and approve them. Learn how

    To create collections of managed Android apps, approve apps that you added to your managed app list in your Admin console.

Create a collection

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenWeb and mobile apps.

  3. Click Settingsand thenAndroid app collections.
  4. On the left, click Organize apps .
  5. Click Create a collection.
  6. Name the collection and click Next.
  7. Select up to 100 apps to add to the collection and click Add apps. Use the search bar to find specific apps.

    Note: If you want to add a managed Android app that you added to the Web and mobile apps list in your Admin console, but it’s not available to add to a collection, you need to approve it in Managed Google Play first. Learn how

  8. At the bottom, click Save.

To return to the Web and mobile apps page, at the top of the page, click Close .

Edit or delete a collection

Important: Click Discard changes at the bottom to cancel any edits. If you edit a collection and save the changes, your changes can't be undone.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. In the Admin console, go to Menu and then Appsand thenWeb and mobile apps.

  3. Click Settingsand thenAndroid app collections.
  4. On the left, click Organize apps .
  5. Edit the collection:
    • To add an app to a collection, on the left of the collection you want to edit, click Add . Select the apps that you want to add and click Add apps. You can use the search bar to find specific apps. Note: A collection can include a maximum of 100 apps. The app must be approved in Managed Google Play. Learn how to approve apps
    • To remove an app from a collection, at top of each app that you want to remove, click Remove .
    • To reorder the apps in a collection,  click the Left arrowand Right arrow next to apps to arrange them in your preferred order.
    • To rename a collection, click Edit , enter a new name for the collection, and click OK.
    • To make a copy of a collection, click Copy and thenCreate.
    • To reorder collections, on the right of a collection, click the Up arrow  and Down arrow  to arrange them in your preferred order.
    • To delete a collection, at the top of the collection you want to delete, click Delete . Click Delete to confirm.
  6. At the bottom, click Save.

To return to the Web and mobile apps page, at the top of the page, click Close .
