Import media using Home Sharing in the Apple TV app on Mac
Using Home Sharing, you can import purchased movies and TV shows to multiple Mac computers in your home. To use Home Sharing, you must have an Apple Account.
Note: If a shared computer doesn’t appear when Home Sharing is on, try quitting and reopening the Apple TV app, or turning Home Sharing off and then on in System Settings on both computers.
Import items from other libraries using Home Sharing
When you have Home Sharing enabled on multiple computers, you can import purchased, downloaded movies and TV shows from the media library of one computer to another. You can import from up to five different libraries.
Turn on Home Sharing on both the Mac you want to import from and the Mac you want to import to.
On the Mac you’re importing to, go to the Apple TV app .
In the sidebar, select Home Sharing, then click a shared library on the right.
Note: If you don’t see Home Sharing in the sidebar, move the pointer to the right of the Library heading, click Edit, select Home Sharing, then click Done.
Click the Show pop-up menu at the bottom of the window, then choose “Items not in my library”.
Choose a shared library category (Movies or TV Shows, for example), select the items you want to import, then click Import.
Automatically import new purchases from another computer
Anytime you download an item you’ve purchased to a computer in your Home Sharing network, you can have the item download automatically to the other computers in the network as well.
Go to the Apple TV app on your Mac.
In the sidebar, select Home Sharing, then click a shared library on the right.
Note: If you don’t see Home Sharing in the sidebar, move the pointer to the right of the Library heading, click Edit, select Home Sharing, then click Done.
Click Settings at the bottom of the window.
Select the types of content you want to automatically import, then click OK.
