Position Purpose: Work with plant management and personnel daily to improve plant throughput, quality and reduce costs through repair, troubleshooting, design and programming of electrical devices and systems.
Principle Accountabilities
Responsible for safe work habits and ensuring that all equipment operates in a safe manner including estops, drives, motors, safety gates etc.
Responsible for plant control systems and to keep the automated industrial control systems current.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of industrial control systems and hardware both modern and hardware up to 25 years old.
Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.
Responsible for troubleshooting, calibration, project implementation, network integration and some PLC support programming.
Interface with and troubleshoot the following motor control equipment properly and safely: motor starters, relays, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), Servo motors and controls.
Interface with and troubleshoot Allen Bradley and other plant PLC's including connecting to the PLC, reading ladder logic, programming, diagnosing hardware and software problems.
Provide technical support when equipment fails or is producing poorly.
Support the maintenance staff during large repairs or shutdowns.
Support predictive and preventative maintenance program.
Direct interface with facility operators and outside contractors/vendors.
Process data analysis and lead improvement teams.
Maintain machine documentation and drawings.
Write technical procedures.
Related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience
Technical certification in Industrial Control and Instrumentation Technology or similar, or 8 years of verifiable working experience.
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and work with PLC/HMI hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation and Siemens
Knowledge and ability to install, test, calibrate, and tune electronic devices such as drives, load cells, thermocouples, RTDs, motors, control cards, IO point, valve banks, encoders, safety relays, switches, HMIs and PLCs.
Knowledge of industrial networking used to connect control system components and instrumentation.
Experience with electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC, control panels and associated NEC references desired
Microsoft Office experience.
