Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Part-time Assistant Coach.
Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all facets of developing and maintaining a successful NCAA Div III team and program.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
• Recruiting and retaining athletically and academically qualified student athletes
• Planning and conducting practices
• Assisting in fundraising
• Other duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
•Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
•Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
· Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy;
· One year of experience leadership or coaching experience at college, high school or Club level;
· Excellent oral/written communications skills;
· Willingness to work varied hours, including nights and weekends;
· Demonstrates ability to successfully recruit to an NCAA DIV III institution;
· Possess knowledge of NCAA DIV III, ECAC and NJAC regulations and committed to adhering to all conference and institutional regulations.
Equipment Utilized
· Sporting equipment unique to the team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Must be able to work under sometimes challenging physical conditions;
· Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs, per OSHA standards.
