You already use external software to build your MSI. If you use InstallAware to build your MSI, you will get native Windows 11 context menus for absolutely free. They will give you a free license too, just ask.

I think InstallAware Context Menu bridge bundles a proprietary .msix file that gets installed on the machine where the packaged application (like 7-Zip) is installed. Most MSI building solutions (e.g. wix) don't do things like that. Also, there exist open source implementations for Windows 11 context menu (e.g. WinMerge). So let Igor decide the way he wants to go. Windows 11 context menu would be nice, but shift+right-click is not too hard either for power users.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. You can't just edit the registry to activate a context menu on Windows 11, you have to use an MSIX package. As you already wrote, I am not aware of any other installers (including MSI builders) offering a Context Menu Bridge. Igor already makes up his own mind without needing anybody's leave.

This may be an artifact of my ignorance but where are the SHA1 and MD5 sums for the 7-Zip 24.07 files?
In the past I have found them in the corresponding version folder on the Files page here on SourceForge. Currently I don't see a folder for 24.07. Help help? ;)

Thank you for this amazing software!
.MSI where?
Are you planning to use the InstallAware Context Menu Bridge for Windows 11 context menu (top-level) support?

7-Zip doesn't use external programs.

SHA1 and MD5 sums for the file can be expanded by pressing
i
, for info, icon in the most right column in file's row.I've uploaded 24.07 files to SF now.
Thank you. I really appreciate and admire your expertise and generosity in creating and sharing 7-Zip!
Hi Igor, will you be updating winget with this latest version please?
Thanks very much!
When I zip a folder with hundreds of htm files, in 24.06 this takes 2 seconds, but in 24.07 it takes several minutes.... What's going on?
Try another tests for same data.
What antivirus software and what version of Windows?
Maybe your antivirus software doesn't like new version of 7-zip.
7-zip builds cleanly with all hardening options for C/C++ with UASM 2.57 from here.
