Skodde's carefully curated and distinctive approach to Techno music is unmatched. Time spent playing live at Flux Collective raves and parties in Oslo has given way to some of their most classical yet innovative techno. Now the Oslo-based DJ and producer duo debuts on Mhost Likely Black, combining elements of classic Techno and futuristic soundscapes - sealing listeners in a voyage you'll never want to end. This Techno EP is not for the faint-hearted but for those who wish to immerse themselves in completing the rave escapism.
On 'Babel' Skodde kicks off with their classical Detroit Techno Jeff Mills-esque pulsating synth lines. An instant contemporary Oslo rave classic. The glitch and anticipation of 'Reversed Cycle' melt into the raver's core; distorted pads, heartbeat race, and eyes on its 5 min journey. 'Hard jft' gets underway - a punishing cut of stripped-back, high-velocity Techno. 'Restless legs' preserves its frenetic energy with off-key atmospherics and marching rhythm channelling that deep emotion that Skodde does so well; before 'Ivory' strays down a more melodic route. A cut of dub-like Techno that maintains the ghostly infatuation of the best contemporary Dub Techno - on oxymoronic blends of anxiety and calmness. It is an emotionally-stirring ambient piece created to float, captive, and inspire.

6 solid tracks of propulsive Techno grooves that continually build and set that directive to move on the floor. Something about Chlär's deeply layered synth & percussive production work (those Latin/Jazz/Tribal Techno elements) that reminds me of (hint;) ahem, mixes well) with the best of classic Slam, Adam Beyer, Aril Brikha, Surgeon & Samuel L. Sessions tracks. sergentor
