🚀 Excited to share my latest project on ArtStation: a high-fidelity CGI model of the Razer Basilisk V3 gaming mouse! 🎮 This practice project involved extensive work in modeling, texturing, look development, and lighting to create a realistic digital asset. My goal was to utilize maximum procedural nodes in Autodesk Maya to develop a photorealistic output with Arnold, reducing the reliance on textures to minimize memory consumption and file size. 🔍 Project Highlights: Precision Modeling: Detailed and accurate representation of the Razer Basilisk V3 with help of photoscan of the original asset Procedural Texturing: Extensive use of procedural nodes to create surface details, ensuring flexibility and control. 20th September 2024, Sinar Project with test data measurements from Open Observervatory for Network Interference (OONI), confirmed that a few Malaysian Internet service providers were implementing what appears to be a mandated blocking of the website ArtStation.com, a prominent platform for showcasing games, film, media, and entertainment art. As of 17th September, data on OONI indicates that blocking occurred on networks run by at least 3 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) which redirected users to a server maintained by MCMC. This would have resulted in users facing difficulties in accessing the website. The ISPs are: TM (AS4788) Maxis (AS9534) TIME (AS9930) After running test measurements and analyzing the data, Sinar Project has confirmed that ArtStation (www.artstation.com) has been blocked since September 6. #internetcensorship

Very powerful testimony from a veteran concept artist on the impact AI is already having in the industry. Every time you spin up OpenAI to slop together something, I ask you to pause for a moment to think about: - The work that has been stolen to build this system. - The expertise that is being poorly imitated to create what you're after. - The trade you are undervaluing by getting a machine that doesn't need to pay bills to do the work for free/cheap. - The industry you're helping decimate and the people in this industry you'll be displacing. I don't care if you wouldn't normally hire a concept artist. I don't care if you wouldn't normally hire a copywriter. I don't care if you're just using it to churn out 50 shite ideas so you can develop one that isn't so shite. You're undervaluing what someone does as a trade to use a cheap alternative that has stolen the original artists work. If you're a studio manager touting your innovative use of AI... All I can say is you're undervaluing the people you work with. It's only a matter of time until all stages of production can be fed through a slop machine, you're helping that along to the point where clients will go straight to OpenAI rather than your studio. *slow clap* As an animator, I'm not feeling the impact of this personally yet, but I'm conscious of what's on the horizon. https://lnkd.in/dQjK_Uhy

The implications of this stuff is wild.. Combining sculpting and AI like this for world-building is the future. Made a basic scene on my PS5 in Dreams, "scanned" it, enhanced the video with Runway video to video, converted it to Gaussian Splats with Postshot (first example) and with Kiri Engine (second example) and then used Kiri Engine's blender plugin to edit the scene in Blender. #art #ai
